Katy Perry accused of sexual assault

Katy Perry has been accused of sexual assault by actor and model Ruby Rose.

The allegations came on social media after an article was shared about Perry’s response to Justin Bieber’s Coachella set.

The whole exchange took place on Threads after Complex Music shared an article about Katy Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s performance at Coachella over the weekend.

Perry has been in attendance at the music festival in California with her partner, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and gave her thoughts on Bieber’s performance, which certainly attracted some attention due to the low-key nature of the set and his choosing some of the songs on YouTube.

However, in the comments beneath this post, Australian actor and model - star of Orange is the New Black - Ruby Rose, wrote: “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s*** what she thinks.”

Then, after being asked questions by followers, she opened up about her alleged experience.

Rose said: “I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40.

“It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.

“Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes.”

In response to another comment, she explained the allegations in full: ““She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face till my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.

“After it I threw up on her. I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it. Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person. Instead I got attacked by.. everyone.”

She continued: “Before I open up about something incredibly raw and traumatic, I tell myself ‘it’s ok, you don’t need people to believe you, you just need to get it out of your poor body, before it gives you cancer.’ But then I see this post and … tears consume me, in a good way. Thank you.”

Katy Perry has not responded to these unfounded claims - and it is not clear whether there is any truth to them.

Ruby Rose and Katy Perry have had disputes before

What we do know is that Rose and Perry have clashed before, with Rose publicly criticizing Perry’s music in 2017.

Rose, a friend of Taylor Swift, trashed a track released by Perry called ‘Swish Swish’, deriding it as a ‘sloppy mess of writing’ ‘purposeful poop’.

The track had been interpreted as a diss against Swish, including a line that referenced her song ‘Bon Appetit’.

Then, Rose continued: “I just think with everything going on in the world to go from rebranding as political activist only to ditch it and go low.. is.. a bummer.

“I’ve always stood up for the people I love and against things I think are cheap or mean spirited,” she continued. That’s not new. You have to follow your [heart symbol].”
