Katy Perry to 'tell all about her dark marriage to Russell Brand' as details of new book emerge
Russell Brand's ex-wife Katy Perry could publicly reveal more about their relationship in the near future, according to an insider.
On Thursday (November 5), Brand appeared at London's Southwark Crown Court after two days of deliberations, as a jury delivered a verdict.
The British comedian and actor was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault offenses against four women between 2004 and 2009, and is facing a lengthy prison sentence.
He was found not guilty on two other counts of rape and one of attempted indecent assault.
A judge told the Get Him to the Greek star to expect a 'significant custodial term' for his crimes, as he is currently being held behind bars.
Several reports have revealed that the 51-year-old has had a tumultuous start to his time in prison.
Now, it has emerged that Perry may have been biding her time in revealing her side of the story when it comes to their past relationship.
Katy Perry is preparing to 'tell all'
While Brand is expected to be handed his prison sentence on Monday, reports suggest that Perry has been waiting for the conclusion of the trial to lift the lid.
Apparently, the 'Roar' singer will be releasing a book and documentary series about her life.
A source close to Perry, 42, told the Mail on Sunday that she would only finalize agreements after Brand's trial was finished.
She is reportedly in 'active discussions' to share her account of their marriage, as a source claimed: "Katy has received multiple offers over the years to tell her story but would not consider anything until after the trial. She has a lot to say.
"At the moment she's considering a Netflix-type series and an autobiography. She and her team have been in active discussions.
"There is a lot about that marriage which people don't know. It was a very dark period in her life," they concluded.
The Daily Star reports that her representatives have been in touch with streaming platforms such as Netflix and Hulu over a possible deal.
Speaking in July, Perry mentioned Brand during the opening night of the popstar's Out of Office UK tour.
While on the microphone, she told the crowd of roughly 10,000: "I hope my ex isn't here; he should be in jail."
2010 interaction goes viral
An interview featuring Perry and Brand from the 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar Party has gone viral following his conviction.
In the clip, the pair can be seen walking down the red carpet and stopping for an interview with British morning show GMTV for their thoughts on the Academy Awards.
Brand starts to answer before Perry jokingly interrupts, saying: "You didn’t watch it!"
He then hit back with a joke before the interviewer said to Perry: "You just put him in it right now," to which Brand replies: "I did watch the Oscars."
Perry then adds: "I call him on his bulls**t," before Brand quickly interjects: "Don't swear," as the interview was going out on television in the UK.
As the reporter continues asking questions, Brand is seen bringing out a small rectangular object that says the word "obey" on it, and holding it up in front of Perry.
She then appears to go quiet as Brand shares his thoughts on the winners, before the reporter asks: "Katy, how do you deal with this guy?"
The singer stutters for a moment before responding: "No, he’s actually hilarious," to which the reporter quips: "I’m glad you find him funny," as Brand walks her down the carpet.
