Kevin Spacey Reveals He’s Now Homeless Seven Years After Sexual Assault Scandal

In a deeply emotional interview, Kevin Spacey says he is effectively homeless and living out of temporary rentals after years of legal turmoil drained his finances.

The 66-year-old Oscar winner told The Telegraph he is staying in “Airbnbs and hotels,” describing his current situation as a dramatic break from the luxurious life he once led.

“The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical,” Spacey said. “I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out… I literally have no home.”

Actor says his belongings are in storage as he follows work

Spacey explained that everything he owns is now boxed up. He moves from place to place depending on short-term jobs.

“In weird ways, I feel I’m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was,” he said. “Everything is in storage, and I hope at some point… I’ll be able to decide where I want to settle down again.”

He also acknowledged that bankruptcy had been considered during the height of his legal battles. “It was discussed, but it never got to that point,” he said.

Allegations that ended his Hollywood career

Spacey’s downfall began in 2017 after multiple men accused him of sexual misconduct. More than 30 individuals ultimately came forward with allegations ranging from inappropriate behavior to sexual assault.

The fallout was swift. Netflix severed ties with him, removing him from House of Cards, and Hollywood broadly distanced itself from the once-celebrated star.

Spacey was also scrutinized for past associations with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell after a now-controversial photograph surfaced of him and Maxwell inside Buckingham Palace’s throne room during a visit allegedly arranged by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Spacey has maintained he had no meaningful relationship with either Epstein or Maxwell.

Cleared in court but frozen out of his industry

Although Spacey was acquitted in a 2023 UK trial involving four accusers, he has struggled to rebuild his personal and professional life. Studios have not welcomed him back, and his earnings have dwindled.

He discussed the personal fallout in a recent emotional interview with Piers Morgan, revealing his Baltimore home is being lost to foreclosure.

Forced to start over

“It’s funny you ask,” Spacey told Morgan. “This week… my house is being sold at auction. So I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage.”

When asked why the house was being sold, Spacey was blunt: “Because I can’t pay the bills that I owe.”

He said the outstanding amount was “considerable” and totaled “many millions.”

Despite the hardship, Spacey hinted that he hopes work opportunities will slowly allow him to rebuild his life - though for now, he has no permanent place to call home.
