I never thought I'd say this, but here goes: I feel sorry for Khloe Kardashian.

Sure, she has a ton of money, and yes, she is privileged enough to pretty much do whatever she wants at the drop of a hat, but - wow - has she taken some crap over the past couple of months.

First she found out that her partner, NBA star Tristan Thompson, was cheating on her just days before their baby was born, then she was subject to mass speculation after her entire family appeared to shun the basketball player, and even now she's still having to deal with people picking apart every tiny thing she does in order to suss out what's going on in her personal life.

So, when one publication wrote a piece about the KUWTK star looking "tense" on a dinner date, she fired back.

Her retaliation followed an article published by the Daily Mail on Monday, in which they claimed that Khloe looked "sad and bored" over the weekend.

"The 33-year-old looked tired and distracted throughout the meal, which she spent seemingly ignored by her cheating beau and their dining companions," the publication reported. "Even an enormous new diamond, sparkling on her ring finger, did nothing to improve her mood."

A few months ago, Khloe might have let this sort of thing slide. But not anymore.

"You make up anything!! I actually had a great night," she wrote on Twitter. "It was a large birthday dinner for friends and as a new mom IM TIRED AF!! Being out past 10pm is not where I’ll have the most energy these days."

What's more, when other people started commenting on Khloe's relationship with Tristan as a result of the article, the reality star clapped back at them, too.

"I love, adore & root for @khloekardashian but I’m so disappointed she stayed with that wasteman Tristan," wrote one Twitter user who goes by the name Queen Persia. "She preaches about women knowing their self worth and when to walk away but when it’s time to walk the walk, she’s a hypocrite."

Khloe hit back: "Not exactly Queen Persia, you have no knowledge of what goes on in our household or the enormous rebuilding this takes to even coexist. I’m proud of my strength. I appreciate your opinion and I hope you hold that same opinion to everyone else who has stayed in situations."

Plus, even if Khloe did look a bit stressed out - it's pretty understandable considering that she has a small infant to take care of, a public reputation to maintain, and vast swathes of paparazzi to avoid at all times. Throw a busy birthday dinner into the mix and it's no wonder that she was looking less than her best on this occasion.

So, for anyone out there considering coming after Khloe Kardashian for her personal life, maybe consider her past track-record for dealing with haters, first.
