Khloe Kardashian hits back at fans who think she's making her daughter 'materialistic'
What are the first words that come into your mind when you think of the Kardashian family? Rich? Vapid? #NudeSelfiesTilIDie?
"Wealthy" and "famous" are probably some of the most common answers to that question, as are "iconic" and "annoying" - depending on whether you love or hate the reality stars. But, if you ask a lot of people, there's only one word that sums them up better than any other: "materialistic".
After all, they're always showing off their latest brand deals or Kylie cosmetics collaborations; and when was the last time you saw any of them wear the same outfit twice? It's no secret that the Kardashian-Jenners are obsessed with clothes and makeup, and you'd think that - by now - the sisters would just own that fact.
However, when some fans decided to call out Khloe for raising her little girl, True, in a "materialistic" way, she was not happy at all.
It all started when Khloe posted an admittedly adorable photo of baby True sitting in a kiddie-sized white Bentley next to a giant teddy bear. The toys were a gift from Kimora Lee Simmons, and Khloe decided to publicly thank her by uploading the pic with the caption:
"I’m not sure what’s cuter, the cute teddy bear driving the Bentley truck or True’s cheeks and smile ? Thank you Auntie Kimora and family for the precious gift!"
But not everybody saw the sweet side of it.
"MATERIALISMMMMMMM embedded in her skull already," wrote one commenter.
"Already hard at work making money for mommy," said another.
And one person even dared to attack Khloe's religious beliefs: "She should of [sic] receive a cross or a bible so this child grows closer to God as opposed to embedding materialism in her brain."
However, Khloe wasn't just going to sit back and take those sorts of comments.
"We read children's bible stories everyday [sic] and we say prayers every single night but you should not pass judgement either way," she said.
"Why be so negative if you are a child of God?
"She’s a baby who received a beautiful sweet gift and I was SOOO excited to put her in it and take a picture! I’m enjoying every single moment I can with my sweet angel! The angel GOD gave me!"
What's more, she also shut down fans who tried to claim that the mother-of-one had not been donating True's old clothes to charity.
"I do!" she said. "[I] donate to multiple shelters and charities all over California".
All in all, then, it seems like the Kardashian-Jenners face a lot of negativity for the way they choose to live their lives and raise their kids. I'd say we should maybe cut them some slack but, come on, the kid has a Bentley. They can deal with a little criticism every now and then.
