Sometimes - and it's very rare - but sometimes, we don't hear from the Kardashians for a few days. Hard to believe, right? I know. However, while those moments of silence can be serene, they can also be frightening.
Take last year, for example. Last year, we saw both Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian take a step back from social media. To say it was weird is an understatement. Honestly, for a while, nothing made sense. No one knew where the sisters had disappeared to and, despite various rumours that they were both expecting, nothing was ever confirmed.
Then they appeared. Khloe confirmed that she was pregnant and Kylie continued to be an enigma before she confirmed the arrival of her baby daughter with Travis Scott.
While it's Kylie's announcement that made the headlines of media outlets around the world, there was something touching about Khloe's. The reality star had been keen to have children for years and was worried that it wouldn't be possible. Then, in December of last year, she appeared to confirm the news to her millions of followers.
Taking to her account, Khloe wrote.
"My greatest dream realized! We are having a baby! I had been waiting and wondering but God had a plan all along. He knew what He was doing. I simply had to trust in Him and be patient.
"I still at times can't believe that our love created life! Tristan, thank you for loving me the way that you do! Thank you for treating me like a Queen! Thank you for making me feel beautiful at all stages! Tristan, most of all, Thank you for making me a MOMMY!!!
"You have made this experience even more magical than I could have envisioned!
"I will never forget how wonderful you've been to me during this time! Thank you for making me so happy my love!"
However, for all the fanfare that surrounded the announcement, baby True's arrival was marred by allegations of infidelity by Khloe's partner and baby daddy, Tristan Thompson. Thompson was photographed getting close to several other women and Khloe and his relationship is believed to have been put to the test by the rumours.
But, since making her return to social media as a mum, Khloe has helped her brand by appearing open, honest and willing to defend her relationship. She's shut down fans and newspapers for talking about her and Tristan and has appeared like a confident mom, winning her new fans in the process.
Now, however, she has slipped up.
While broadcasting live on Instagram last week, Khloé caught heat online for repeatedly using the "r word" while struggling to figure out how to start the live session.
One fan wrote, “@khloekardashian did a live insta today using a discriminatory word. R—–d, what we call the R-word. I love the Kards but this shocked me & is repulsive.”
Another fan decided to directly tweet at the 34-year-old star, who then responded to her tweet and apologized for using the word. Kardashian wrote, “Ugh I hate that word! Why did I even say that? You are a million percent right and I actually greatly dislike when people use that word! I will do better! I am sorry! much love today.”
It's a slip up by Khloe, who has rightfully apologised for her actions and will try to move on from it. You live and learn and I doubt this will harm her brand too much.
