Being a celebrity means that you are never truly out of the public eye.

As such, one wonders how they ever manage to relax, knowing that at any moment some paparazzi photograph of them might cause mayhem to their private lives, one mysterious 'source' speaking to a glossy magazine could set the rumour mill whirring into motion for weeks to come.

And don't even get me started on social media. Quite how any celebrity manages to run their Twitter and Instagram accounts is beyond me, if only due to the sheer volume of messages, comments and the like that they must receive every single hour of the day.

Of course, you could well argue that the positives of such a way of life far outstrip the negatived, and you're probably right, but the fact remains that it must be a somewhat exhausting existence.

Someone who knows this very well is Katy Perry. Not only is the singer wildly famous, one of the most instantly recognisable faces on the planet, but she's also been embroiled in her fair share of feuds and rumours down the years.

The most obvious example of this would, of course, be her long running beef with Taylor Swift, a feud that divided fans right down the middle. However, the pair appear to have buried the hatchet recently, after Katy Perry was reported to have sent Swift a literal olive branch ahead of the latter's Reputation tour.

As it turns out, though, it wasn't only Taylor Swift that Perry has had issues with in the past.

Recently emerged texts, between Kesha and Lady Gaga, which were revealed in court as part of Kesha's ongoing legal proceedings against producer Dr Luke, allegedly involve Lady Gaga calling Katy Perry "mean", among other comments.

Well, Gaga hasn't waited long for the dust to settle on this one, and took to Twitter to give her side of the story. She wrote;

".@katyperry & I have grown up in the industry together. We’ve gone through both celebrations & differences w/ each other. These are old texts. We’ve matured, gotten over the past, love each other & share deep respect. Katy is my friend and is truly a kind soul. End of story."

Katy Perry then responded with a message of love of her own.

Fans of both artists seemed delighted that the situation was handled with so much class and care by the two women, and the only question on social media that was left needing answers was, when are the pair going to collaborate on some music?

Now that would be a great way to see out 2018, wouldn't it?
