Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song have publicly revealed the name of their son, two years after he was born.
The pair welcomed their first child, Dakota Song Culkin, on April 5, 2021, named in honor of Culkin’s late sister.
Their second child was welcomed in March 2022, but the two celebrity parents opted to keep the name under wraps.
The couple first introduced fans to their son and Dakota during Culkin’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023.
The boys’ appearance alongside their parents marked a rare public moment for the family.
During his speech, Culkin delivered an emotional tribute to Song, recognizing her unwavering support.
"I'd like to thank Brenda. You're absolutely everything," he said. "You're the best person I've ever known. And after the birth of our two boys, you've become one of my three favorite people."
Well, in a new interview with Bustle, Song has revealed the name of their second son to be Carson!
Speaking about the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony, Song said: "That was such a special moment. We couldn’t have them miss that.
"Dak was so scared of all the cameras. That’s one of the reasons why we sort of keep them away [from the spotlight]. They did not understand what was happening.”
Despite the occasion, Song emphasized her commitment to shielding her children from the public eye, especially as they begin to notice the attention surrounding their family.
“My son was like, ‘Why is that man taking pictures of you, mama?’” she recounted, describing an incident with paparazzi at Dakota’s soccer practice. “You could take pictures of me all day. I don’t care. But when it’s your kids, it’s different. They didn’t ask for this life.”
Song also opened up about the challenges of balancing motherhood with her career, particularly with her fiancé, 44-year-old Culkin, sharing her reserved nature.
“Mack and I are both very antisocial,” she explained. “Our kids have more of a social calendar than I will ever have.”
Nevertheless, Song has recently taken on a busy schedule. Reflecting on her role in the upcoming film The Last Showgirl, where she stars alongside Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis, Song admitted she was initially hesitant to join the project while managing life as a mother and actress.
“I had two pregnancies in the same calendar year. It was a lot,” she shared. “Once I stepped into motherhood, it made me question a lot: my place in this industry, my place as a woman, ageism in this industry, society’s pressures of what beauty is, what being young is. Things that I’d never questioned before.”
Despite these challenges, Song affirmed her belief in maintaining a balance between her career and family life.
“Family life is the most important thing,” she said. “But I’ve always said to be the best parent, the best partner, I have to be the best me. And a huge part of that is work. I have to be able to honor that.”
