Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly appeared to have gotten into an altercation at last night's MTV VMAs.

As reported by TMZ, the 33-year-old UFC icon approached the 31-year-old rapper on the red carpet in the hopes of saying hello.

According to a source, the Irish fighter "stuck his hand out and started walking up to the singer". As video footage shows, MGK - real name Colson Baker - then says something, before his security guards start to push McGregor away.

A source also told the outlet that McGregor had wanted a photo with the 'Bloody Valentine', however, a spokesperson of McGregor told The Independent: "Conor McGregor did not ask anyone for a picture, nor did he instigate this incident. He does not know Machine Gun Kelly, outside of the fact that he attended Conor’s fight this past July."

Either way, things quickly heated up when McGregor spilled his drink and dropped his cane.

McGregor responded by allegedly throwing what was left of his beverage at MGK. Photos show McGregor reaching for the rapper, as security holds him back - preventing the two from coming to blows.

A source who was allegedly at the scene told Page Six: "They scuffled then it settled down and Conor went for him again."

Page Six adds that things quickly calmed down, and MGK walked the red carpet with girlfriend Megan Fox - putting on a passionate display for the cameras:

The alleged scuffle comes as quite a surprise, especially considering MGK was previously photographed attending McGregor's UFC 260 fight in Los Vegas back in March.

A physical altercation may not have been the best idea for the former champion, especially considering the fact he suffered a nasty leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July.

But despite walking the red carpet with a cane, McGregor looked great on Sunday night at the Barclays Center. Donning a pink suit, he continued to walk the red carpet alongside girlfriend Dee Devlin.

Later in the night, MGK was joined on-stage by frequent collaborator Travis Barker to perform 'Papercuts'.

The Irish mixed martial artist has insisted that he did not come to blows with Machine Gun Kelly at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards... despite photos and videos showing him appearing to lunge at and throw a drink over the American rapper, leading the security separating the two.

The 33-year-old said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that "absolutely nothing" happened on Sunday night (September 12) between him and Kelly.

"Absolutely nothing. I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy," McGregor told the publication.

"Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean," he continued. "I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox."

Ouch, that's quite a burn.

Eminem vs Machine Gun Kelly. It's the hottest beef in hip-hop, and the most hilarious example of white-on-white crime. It all started in 2012, when MGK tweeted that Eminem's 16-year-old daughter, Hailey, was "hot as f*ck." He deleted the tweet, but wasn't forgiven. He claims Eminem banned him from the radio station Shade45. Six years later, MGK threw shots at Em on No Reason. Em called MGK out on Not Alike. MGK responded with the diss track Rap Devil. Eminem ranted about MGK in an interview, then responded with the diss track Killshot. Who won? I'd say, hip-hop fans.

Their unlikely beef captured the world's attention. People dug up MGK's old tweets praising Eminem, calling Kells the original "Stan." A video appeared to show MGK getting booed, while performing Rap Devil in concert. Twitter users spread conspiracy theories about how the beef was "staged," and shared an image that appeared to prove MGK recorded Rap Devil six months ago. This morning, Machine Gun Kelly appeared on the New York City radio show The Breakfast Club to clear the air. (And drink tequila and tomato juice.)

Regarding the Hailey tweet, MGK said, "I didn't know how old she was." He just stumbled upon an article about her. "All the headlines said was: This person, who we had known through records, was all grown up," said the rapper. "I made a comment, I didn't feel like it was disrespectful but I'm a father, I have a 9-year-old daughter, I get it, 100 percent."

So, MGK tried to handle the situation behind the scenes. Since it was impossible to get the "recluse" Eminem on the phone, he spoke to Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg. MGK agreed to delete the tweet and apologize privately, but not publicly. "Public apology? Come on... We're talking about the same guy who shits on dead people [and] Christopher Reeves in a wheelchair... It was a silly comment to have started all of this. It's something silly to trip on. I get it if it was like, you know, gruesome words were used or like, there was, you know, sexual implications in it. [I just said] she's hot."

When asked if the beef was a ploy to help him records, MGK joked, "Oh, man, that would be great! That would be a big help." Although he and Eminem used the same producer, and are both signed to Interscope Records, the beef is not "staged." MGK said he doesn't need help, either. "I've sold over 20 million records... I've been in ten movies, four of which come out [between] December and April." He adds that he made the single Til I Die, which has no features, and went double platinum.

"The narrative is becoming a little unfair right now," the Wildboy rapper continued. "I stepped in a boxing ring by myself... And here is this audience, throwing banana peels, while I'm fighting." You know that viral video of MGK getting booed, while performing Rap Devil in concert? It turns out the boos were edited into the audio track by Eminem stans. In addition, Kelly says, no, he didn't record Rap Devil six months ago. You'd think this would be obvious, since screenshots can be doctored, and the lyrics specifically reference Eminem's lyrics in Not Alike, a song on an album surprise-released two weeks ago. But many people found the conspiracy theory compelling. "I recorded [Rap Devil] Friday, the day [Eminem] released his shit," said Kelly. He added that despite what you saw in Wikipedia screenshots, he wrote the song himself.

Of course, MGK trashed Eminem throughout the interview. He said the Rap God lied about not calling Diddy to get him blackballed. He said Em's interview with Sway wasn't "real," because Sway is Eminem's employee at Shade45. He said Em took two weeks to reply, recording in a million dollar studio, while he took two days to reply, recording in a dressing room while on tour. He said his man-bun haircut was for a movie, his "track record of beef isn't Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey," and he is not a mumble rapper. "You called me a 'mumble rapper'? Can we just pour some out for this old dumbass?" MGK said, pouring out liquid from a cup onto the floor. "I can't even."

Oh, and MGK confirmed those embarrassing Stan tweets praising Eminem were real. However, he says to look at the timestamps. It's true he used to idolize Eminem - he admits it in Rap Devil - but he doesn't think Slim Shady is cool anymore. And neither does his 9-year-old daughter. "I honestly don't think my daughter would want [the autograph]," said MGK. "She texted me when that 'KILLSHOT' came out and was like, 'Eh.' At 9 years old. You can't even offend a 9-year-old?"

When asked if he'd talk things out with Eminem, MGK said no, "F*ck you." However, if you're hoping for a reply to Killshot, get comfortable. The Bad Things rapper said he had "a clip ready," but decided not to fire, because Killshot isn't "good" enough. MGK's BINGE EP drops today.

Last Friday Eminem dropped the blistering diss track Killshot, where he absolutely destroyed Machine Gun Kelly. It was the musical equivalent of Thanos snapping his fingers. After the song was released, MGK mumbled, "I don't feel so good," and crumbled away into nothingness.

Okay, not really. Actually, this is a win-win situation for Machine Gun Kelly, because now we're all talking about Machine Gun Kelly. It's not like MGK is a nobody. He's signed to Puff Daddy's record label and has been making music for over a decade. Yeah, you never see his albums on those "Best Of" lists at the end of the year, but they sell pretty well. Now, thanks to this feud with Eminem, he's captured the culture's attention like never before.

The beef started in 2012, when MGK tweeted that Eminem's 16-year-old daughter Hailie was "hot as f*ck." Although he deleted the tweet, the incident wasn't forgotten. In interviews, Kelly claimed that Eminem blackballed him from the Shade45 radio station. Flash forward to 2018, and MGK threw subs (subliminal disses) at Eminem on the Tech N9ne song No Reason. Eminem finally responded on Not Alike, calling out Machine Gun Kelly by name. Why settle your differences with a phone call when you write angry poems about each other?

MGK responded to Eminem with the surprisingly good diss track, Rap Devil. It's not a lyrical masterpiece ("Your beard is weird!") but the shots he takes are effective. MGK calls "Oscar the Grouch" out on sounding angry all the time, dropping subpar albums, and being 45 years old - which, in hip-hop years, is like 100. "Somebody help your mans up," raps Kelly. "Knees weak of old age, the real Slim Shady can't stand up!"

On Killshot, Eminem channels B. Rabbit, cleverly flipping all of MGK's disses. It's not a catchy bop to throw on at the club, but the wordplay is straight fire. Shady calls Kells out on writing a diss track full of compliments, sounding like an obsessed fan, and having a subpar career, where the apex is this petty beef. "This is it, as big as you're gonna get, so enjoy it," raps Eminem. "Had to give you a career to destroy it!"

While we wait for Machine Gun Kelly's response, one of his old tweets has resurfaced, and it's pretty embarrassing. In 2010, he tweeted, "Eminem makes me want to quit rapping...fuck, he's good lol." It's no secret the 29-year-old rapper is a fan of Eminem. On Rap Devil, MGK called Em the G.O.A.T. and said his idol became his rival. But still, that's a cringeworthy tweet to read today. On Killshot, Em repeatedly compares MGK to Stan, the obsessed fan from his classic 2000 song.

Yesterday, MGK fired back at Eminem with a savage Instagram post: a photo of him on stage, in front of a huge crowd, wearing a T-shirt with Killshot's cover art. The caption reads, "You missed." The crowd's not all there for him - he's currently opening for Fall Out Boy - but it's a cool photo. When his beef is done, he should write Eminem a thank you letter.

It seems the beef between Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly is never going to end, and the rivals have now been trading insults and barbs for over a year. The feud began back when Kelly made some pretty NSFW comments about Eminem's daughter. Then, in MGK's song Rap Devil, the 28-year-old accused Eminem of side-lining his career.

He subsequently stated on Twitter that he was "standing up for not just myself, but my generation. [I'm] doing the same sh*t you did back in your day." In response Eminem came out with a brutal diss track entitled Killshot, in which he states (among other things): "Stan, Stan, son, listen, man, dad isn't mad/But how you gonna name yourself after a damn gun and have a man bun?"

Just when it all seemed to be dying down, Kelly called out Marshall Mathers for neglecting to perform Killshot during a Brisbane show, despite the fact that the crowd were eager to hear it. On Twitter, Kelly stated: "@Eminem u made the right decision not dropping that weak ass song in concert and putting everyone to sleep. [sic]"

Eminem didn't mince words regarding Kelly during the performance, stating to the crowd: "I can't give that c*cksucker any more f*cking light. Brisbane, did y'all enjoy your fucking selves tonight? Brisbane, thank you, family, for making us feel like family. Y'all are family and we love you. Brisbane, make it home safe and make nothing for MGK."

Social media users didn't take Kelly's words well. One person wrote: "Imagine calling a diss track that went platinum in several countries, charted #3 on billboard and broke YouTube record 'weak' He didn’t perform it on stage despite his packed stadium of fans begging him to because he’s done giving you importance. Grow up, Kells. [sic]" Meanwhile, another person added: "How sad Eminem was performing in a packed stadium & you can't even sell out half of it. [sic]"

However, Iggy Azalea made it clear that she supported Kelly when she criticised Em's songwriting abilities. Taking to Twitter around the time Killshot dropped, she stated: "Diss songs shouldn’t be filled with celebrity name drops to pad out lazy bars ... Also, let’s talk about why it’s lazy now; but wasn’t in the earlier work."

She added: "The earlier stuff was crazy, twisted and creative. This stuff feels more like picking names that fit easily into a rhyme scheme. And that’s my unbiased opinion from a girl that watched this guy's set and sung the words in the crowd. I’d think it regardless. One of the greatest to do it, I’m NOT in dispute about that. But I do think the name dropping thing has become a crutch. [sic]"

Guys; what's it going to take for you to bury the hatchet? Seriously.
