Meghan Trainor revealed secret behind remarkable weight loss as fans point out transformation in new celebrity gala photos

Pop star Meghan Trainor (who rose to fame with her body-positive anthem 'All About That Bass') is facing criticism after revealing the secret behind her remarkable weight-loss.

The 31-year-old singer, who has long been celebrated for encouraging women to love their curves, recently opened up about her health transformation and sparked debate among fans.

Meghan Opens Up About Her Transformation

In an Instagram post, Trainor credited a combination of diet, exercise, and medical support for her post-pregnancy transformation.

“I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy, and I’m so glad I did because I feel great,” she wrote.

She also revealed that her husband, Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara, was using the same medication, explaining that they “do everything together.”

The couple’s appearance at the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles turned heads, with Trainor almost unrecognizable in a white ballgown and matching gloves.

Fans React: “Who Is This?”

While some praised Trainor for her honesty and new look, others were confused by her transformation.

“Who is this? Seriously?” one person commented.

Another X user wrote: “The same woman that said ‘I won’t be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll.’”

Others admitted they were simply stunned. “Seeing her so skinny is so weird… I gotta get used to it,” one said, while another joked, “Meghan went to the trainer.”

Over on Instagram, one fan even mistook her for another celebrity: “I thought this was Paris Hilton.”

Still, not everyone was critical. “Every human should go on a transformative journey,” one fan defended. “It amazes me how many of y’all expect people to stay the same forever.”

Changing Lyrics Sparks Controversy

The singer also drew attention for updating the lyrics to her breakout hit 'All About That Bass'. Instead of the iconic line, “Yeah, it’s pretty clear: I ain’t no size 2," she now sings, “Yeah, it’s pretty clear: I got some new boobs.”

Trainor has been open about getting a breast augmentation after “having two kids, living a healthier lifestyle, and losing weight.”

In her new song, she directly addresses her changing image with the lyrics: “Said I was too thick, now I got way too thin,” while also embracing her stretch marks and insisting she doesn’t care what others think.

Fans Accuse Singer of “Mixed Messaging”

Some critics argue Trainor’s transformation undercuts the message that made her famous. “You did base your entire identity on 'All About That Bass' and female empowerment, and the second you could get your hands on medication meant for diabetics... you took it,” one person commented underneath her Instagram post. “You can see how people might find that disingenuous.”

Another added: “The issue isn’t that she slimmed down. It’s that she profited off a body-positive message and then changed it when it became advantageous to do so. It’s like someone promoting clean energy while flying a private jet 1,000 times a year.”

Despite the backlash, Trainor has continued to express pride in her transformation, and insists her message of self-love remains the same, no matter her size.
