Social media has built a reputation over the years for being misleading or unreliable when it comes to spreading information, but this might be crossing the line.
A viral snap of North West, the 13-year-old daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, showing her in the arms of rapper Ken Carson, is doing the rounds.
Carson, 26, is a rapper and producer best known for songs such as Fighting My Demons and Yale.
Obviously, if this image were real, suspicions would be raised about the nature of the relationship, given that North is a minor.
It would be a 13-year age gap between the pair if it were true, but thankfully, the image is doctored.
We are in the age of AI, after all, and the supposed viral image was artificially generated or edited to show the pair standing close to each other.
Hardcore fans will recognize the photo from June 2025, when the now-teenager was celebrating her 12th birthday.
The person next to her wasn't Carson, but her mom, super influencer Kim Kardashian.
In the image, the pair were snapped by paparazzi on a yacht in Mexico, which is a far more wholesome snap than the one that has gone viral.
Some eagle-eyed users caught on to the sick edit, with one user writing: "AI/photoshopping a kid like that is so sick wtf."
Another user took to the original thread, writing: "Y’all been posting inappropriate stuff about A KID. Leave North West alone. This is disgusting behaviour."
Unsurprisingly, the fake image has received over 8.6 million views on X, which was captioned: "13-year-old North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, shares vacation photo with 26-year-old rapper Ken Carson.”
North spoke to Dazed about relationships in August, admitting: “Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff,
“All I want is blue hair and piercings.”
Back in July, North West unexpectedly canceled her first-ever headlining tour just days before it was due to begin.
The 13-year-old performer, who recently launched her music career with her debut EP N0rth4evr, had been scheduled to co-headline the Kimokawaii Tour alongside rapper Molly Santana.
The tour was set to kick off on August 5 in Dallas, followed by numerous performances across the country throughout the month.
However, fans noticed that tour dates had suddenly disappeared from the official website, while Ticketmaster listings for multiple shows were marked as canceled.
West addressed the news in a brief statement shared on her Instagram Stories, thanking supporters and hinting that new projects are on the way, with no reason given.
In the social media post, she wrote: "I was really excited to go on tour with Molly Santana. Sadly it isn't happening anymore, but I have something special for u guys. See ya soon."
Santana also apologized directly to fans, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the sudden cancelation.
