Riley Reid throws shade at ex-adult star Lana Rhoades after she begged every adult site to delete her 400 scenes
An award-winning adult actress, Riley Reid, has hit out at a former adult “legend,” Lana Rhodes, for the questionable way she has tried to rebrand herself in her move away from porn.
Lana, real name Amara Lynee Maple, who started working in the adult entertainment industry when she was fresh out of high school, announced that she was hanging up her boots in 2017, only eight months after she started her porn career.
Lana regrets ever becoming an adult star
Despite being one of the most searched actresses on major adult sites and being named Pornhub's Most Popular Female Performer in 2019, she revealed in interviews that her experience left her with significant psychological scars.
During a 2021 appearance on Harry Jowsey's Tap In podcast, Lana admitted: "If I could go back, I would give up everything to have my dignity and respect back, and for people not to be able to see me in that way."
After allegedly asking every adult site to delete more than 400 of her scenes and deleting almost all her social media posts to start again after becoming a mom, Lana created a new account with the username: Milfy Lana.
The star’s former colleague Riley Reid has criticized Lana for not going about exiting the industry in the best way in a recent podcast appearance.
Porn star hits out at Lana for how she left the industry
Reid said bluntly: "If you are really trying to rebrand yourself and porn hurt you that much, then why are you still using it?"
"If you don’t want to be perceived as a milf, a mother I’d like to f***, then maybe you shouldn't have made your Twitter handle Milfy Lana."
The OnlyFans content creator also added: "If you're trying to rebrand yourself, maybe your bio shouldn't say ex-porn star, you know, or especially ex-porn legend.
"If it was something that hurt me so bad and I was really trying to change my life... I wouldn't name myself Milfy Lana. I'd be Ashley the mom... I would use my real name."
Despite the criticism she has faced from other people in the industry, Lana has been very open about the reasons she quit and the lasting effect that some of the stomach-churning stunts she performed have had on her mental health.
In an episode of the 3 Girls 1 Kitchen podcast, which she co-hosts, she shared: "There was one thing that, ya know, I tried talking to a therapist about before something that I had to do for a scene that was really rough for me.
"Basically, this guy had a bowl and he gagged me until I threw up into it and he p***ed in the bowl, and during the scene he asked me to drink it, and I didn't know how to say no. It was one of the most disgusting, foul scenes.”
This is just one of the experiences that not only contributed to her exit from the industry but also left lasting trauma. "I honestly feel like I'm in denial sometimes, and I can't accept some of the things that I've done," she shared.
