With the news that Channing Tatum has split from his wife of nine years, Jenna Dewan, us voyeuristic souls have anxiously been checking to see if Hollywood's other golden couples are happy in their respective relationships.

One such pairing is, of course, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. They both manage to strike the balance of being flawless, yet decidedly down-to-earth. I mean, not only have they won the genetic lottery, but they're also talented actors with a loaded bank account to boot. And while this may not exactly scream "relatable", when you watch Lively and Reynolds interact in interviews and on social media, they appear to be like any other loved-up couple, but with a penchant for absolutely roasting each other.

It all began last year when Reynolds took to Instagram to post a loving ode to Blake on her 30th birthday. "Happy Birthday to my amazing wife," he wrote underneath a photograph of himself and Lively. However, the actor couldn't miss an opportunity to troll his wife and proceeded to crop the image until it was mostly of him... with a tiny bit of Blake.

And now, Reynolds has done it again, only this time to address rumours of a split.

After a gossip website tweeted out, "Deadpool Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively struggling to spend 'quality time'," Reynolds responded to the ludicrous assertion with his trademark sense of humour. "I wish,” the 41-year-old actor wrote. "I could use a little 'me time'".

The rumour mill naturally persisted but this time Reynolds shut it down expertly - and in the process managed to troll his mum - because what else could he do?

Yesterday evening, Yahoo Entertainment tweeted out: "Ryan Reynolds (@vancityreynolds) joins Blake Lively and his mom on red carpet after shutting down split rumours".

And the Deadpool star responded by saying, "We’re never splitting. She’ll always be my mom. No matter how much jazz-cabbage she smokes with her rollerblading friends."

Hilarious, right?

Phew. Thankfully there seems to be no strife in Blake and Ryan's perfect union. I fully expect them to go back to normal programming over the next few days, and by that I mean trolling the sh*t out of each other.

Despite both being on the A-List circuit, Reynolds and Lively managed to overlook each other until 2010 when they both starred in the DC superhero flick, Green Lantern. After years of just being friends, they got married in 2012 in a top-secret wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. Their two daughters followed suit, with James being born in 2014, and Ines in 2016.

Well, that's a relief isn't it? After Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, and now Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, I just don't know what we'd do if we'd have to deal with the loss of another pairing that we once lauded as #RelationshipGoals.
