TJ Miller recently shared that Ryan Reynolds reached out to him following comments he made about their experience working together on Deadpool.
Miller, who played Weasel in the first two films, previously claimed (per The Daily Mail) that Reynolds was "horrifically mean" to him on set and that he wouldn't want to work with him again.
However, after Reynolds contacted him to clarify the situation, the two were able to resolve their differences.
A surprising resolution
Miller admitted during a SiriusXM interview that the situation was a misunderstanding. He explained that Reynolds emailed him shortly after hearing about his comments, asking if he was still upset.
Miller reassured him that he wasn’t, and the two quickly hashed things out. "It was really cool," Miller recalled.
He acknowledged that his remarks about Reynolds, which went viral, may have been misunderstood. "I wasn’t thinking about the repercussions of saying this or that," he confessed.
A change in perspective
Despite his earlier comments about not wanting to return to Deadpool 3, Miller spoke highly of Reynolds' comedic talent and improvisational skills.
He noted that Reynolds' fame had changed the dynamics of their relationship, but he didn’t think that their interactions were entirely negative.
Though the two have cleared the air, it seems unlikely that Miller will reprise his role as Weasel in the upcoming film, set to be released in 2024.
