Isla Fisher has sparked attention online after sharing a pointed social media post about marriage, just weeks after finalizing her divorce from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.

The Australian actress, 49, posted a quote to Instagram on Wednesday that appeared to offer a cynical take on traditional views of marriage.

While Fisher did not directly address her ex-husband, the post comes less than three months after the pair announced the finalization of their divorce. Fisher and Cohen, 53, had been married for 14 years and share three children together.

The quote began: “For all the men who say, ‘Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?’” before continuing with a modern retort: “Nowadays, 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realise it’s not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage.”

The post contrasts with the statements Fisher made about co-parenting in an interview with The Sunday Times earlier this year, whereby she said: “It’s the most difficult thing that I’ve been through and I’ve learnt so much about myself in the process. I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents.”

She added: “Kids are the most important thing and you want them to really feel safe and loved. We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.”

Despite the pointed tone of Fisher’s recent post, she appeared to maintain a sense of humor about their new dynamic. Earlier this week, she shared a lighthearted Instagram story in response to media coverage of her and Cohen both attending the Wimbledon men’s singles final on the same day, though separately.

Fisher reposted a screenshot of a Daily Mail article that highlighted their individual appearances at the tennis tournament, jokingly captioning it: “Hang on? Who’s watching the kids? @sachabaroncohen.” She attended the event with her brother Daniel and several friends, including Emily in Paris actress Lily Collins, while Cohen was photographed sitting courtside with a male companion.

The former couple also referenced tennis in their original separation announcement last year. In a coordinated post shared in April 2024, they posed in matching tennis outfits and wrote, “After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down.” At the time, they revealed they had quietly filed for separation in 2023 and had been working through the process privately.

Fisher and Cohen first began dating in 2002 and were married in 2010. They share three children: daughters Olive, 17, and Elula, 15, and son Montgomery, 10.

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have announced that they are divorcing after 13 years of marriage.

The news comes after Cohen, 52, has made headlines after being accused of various unsavory on-set acts by fellow actor and former co-star Rebel Wilson.

Cohen and Fisher announced their split in respective statements shared on their Instagram Stories on Friday (April 5). The announcement revealed that the divorce was filed last year.

Each statement read: "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage."

"We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change," the Hollywood stars added. "We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy."

Fisher, aged 48, and Baron Cohen, tied the knot on March 15, 2010, and are proud parents to three children.

Their love story began in 2001 at a party in Sydney, Australia, long before they achieved fame with their successful movies, including Baron Cohen's Borat in 2006 and Fisher's Wedding Crashers in 2005.

As previously mentioned, this revelation comes amid Wilson's multiple accusations about Baron Cohen - as detailed in her memoir, Rebel Rising, published on April 2.

As previously reported, Wilson called out Cohen last month, revealing the Ali G star to be the "a**hole" she refers to in her memoir. Wilson shared an Instagram Reel on March 15 to comment on working with "a**holes" in Hollywood. Check out Rebel's video below:

"When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, yeah, 'I have a no a**hole policy, [it] means like, yeah, I don’t work with a**holes.' I was like, 'Oh yeah. I mean, that sounds sensible or logical,'" Wilson shared candidly.

"But then it really sunk in [what they, the older people in the industry, meant] because I worked with a massive a**hole and yeah, now I definitely have a no a**holes policy," she continued.

"I wrote about an a**hole in my book. Now, said a**hole is trying to threaten me," Wilson revealed. "He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He is trying to stop press coming out about my book. But the book WILL come out, and you will all know the truth."

The Australian actress later said in an Instagram Story that she had allegedly been facing legal pressure from his attorneys to remove any mention of Cohen in her book.

So what are the allegations that Wilson is making against Cohen?

According to reports from People, Wilson recounts instances where Cohen allegedly pressured her to perform nude scenes.

"It felt like every time I’d speak to SBC [Sacha Baron Cohen], he’d mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene. I was like, 'Ha, I don’t do nudity, Sacha,'" Wilson wrote.

"Every day he’s like, 'Just go naked, it will be funny." she continued. "Remember in Borat when I did that naked scene? It was hilarious.' On the last day I thought I’d obviously won the argument, and he got a body double to do the naked scene."

The tension allegedly escalated during filming at a soccer stadium in Cape Town. Wilson alleges that Cohen unexpectedly exposed himself and made disturbing requests.

"SBC summons me via a production assistant saying that I’m needed to film an additional scene... Then he pulls his pants down … SBC says very matter-of-factly: ‘Okay, now I want you to stick your finger up my a**.’ And I’m like, ‘What?? … No!!'", Wilson claimed.

Desperate to defuse the situation, Wilson said that she reluctantly agreed to a compromise, slapping Cohen on the butt and improvising lines as the character.

In response to Wilson's accusations, Cohen's team strongly denied the claims, providing People with anonymous statements from individuals involved in the movie, contradicting Wilson's version of events.

"While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during, and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby," Cohen's team stated.

On July 23, Cohen unveiled his cover shoot for Men’s Fitness UK, flaunting a series of shirtless gym shots that reveal a dramatic physical overhaul.

The striking transformation is tied to his new role as Mephisto in the Disney+ series Ironheart, where he made his debut in the season finale on July 1.

The Marvel character, long speculated to enter the MCU, is a powerful and sinister figure - and Cohen appears to have gone all-in to embody the part.

“This is not AI, I really am egotistical enough to do this,” Cohen wrote on his Instagram Stories, as he shared the magazine's cover. “Some celebs use Ozempic, some use private chefs, others use personal trainers. I did all three.”

He didn’t stop there. In a series of self-deprecating captions, Cohen joked he was "hard launching my mid-life crisis" and "debuting my new character: middle aged man who replaced beer with protein shakes."

According to Deadline, Cohen even consulted fellow actor Matthew McConaughey for training tips before jumping into the gym-heavy prep.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed the character’s future in the franchise during a July 21 press conference, telling reporters: “He's another character that, pre-MCU, would have been hard to do. He's a devil. How do you do that character?

"But he's a formative character. He was a big part of Thanos' storyline in the comics. So again, now that he's here, the potential is clear.”

Isla Fisher has made a candid confession following the news of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s separation.

Speaking on the Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade podcast on Thursday, October 23, the 49-year-old Now You See Me: Now You Don’t actress described her reaction to the longtime couple’s split.

The episode, titled “Isla Fisher Has The Best Friend Group,” opened with Fisher joking about an awkward text exchange involving host David Spade and one of her friends.

After sharing a laugh, co-host Dana Carvey and Fisher discussed her own experiences with love and marriage.

“I’m really, really, really shocked,” Fisher admitted when asked about her fellow Australian actress, 58.

She added that she had left a message for Kidman but had not yet connected, noting, “I don’t really wanna comment on that because there are children involved.”

Fisher also opened up about her personal experience with marriage.
