Samuel L Jackson will be a voice option for Amazon Alexa users
Actor Samuel L Jackson has lent his voice to Amazon Alexa devices and is reportedly the first celebrity to have done so, the BBC reports.
According to the tech giant, the feature will be available to Alexa users later this year for a fee.
Users will be able to interact with the critically acclaimed actor in the form of AI using their neural text-to-speech technology. While Jackson is not the first high profile person to feature on Alexa, other celebrity voice features have been implemented using pre-recorded audio.
If you're excited about the prospect of speaking with the Marvel actor in AI-form, you need to check this out:
Jackson's very colourful languages in movies such as Pulp Fiction, The Avengers, Shaft, A Time To Kill, Die Hard With A Vengeance and the Star Wars prequels have a had a huge impact on popular culture.
One-liners such as "get these motherf*cking snakes off this motherfucking plane" in 2006's Snakes on a Plane have essentially made these films what they are.
Jackson has himself said that he is asked by fans on a weekly basis to do famous lines from Pulp Fiction, for instance, the biblical passage Ezekiel 25:17.
Remember when Samuel L Jackson swore after losing out on an Academy Award back in 1994? Well, that's Sam Jackson for you!
And if the expletive-ridden version of Jackson gets a little too much for Alexa users, they can easily turn it off in favour of a more wholesome version of the actor.
On Wednesday, Amazon said that more celebrity voices will be included in 2020.
In other Samuel Jackson news, he has reportedly joined the ninth instalment of the Saw franchise. He will apparently star alongside Chris Rock, who will also be producing the upcoming horror movie.
