It seems like only yesterday that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got married. After all, who could forget Bieber's engagement announcement on Instagram? He wrote: "Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! ... I promise to lead our family with honour and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make. My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else. [sic]" How cute!
The couple married sometime after November 23, 2018 in a secretive ceremony, which Bieber only revealed after the nuptials were complete. However, if reports are to be believed, the pair make a very good couple and are happily enjoying life together.
But this week it seemed like Hailey's ex, Shawn Mendes, was showing an interest in her again, and naturally, Justin was forced to respond after fans went nuts. It hasn't been that long since Baldwin and Mendes broke up, so it was pretty surprising to some that, when Justin uploaded a picture of her sitting in their car, Shawn took the opportunity to like it.
This move raised plenty of eyebrows and was highlighted by the Instagram fan account Comments By Celebs. However, Bieber later took the opportunity to reassure everyone that Mendes wasn't trying to slide into her DMs, writing: "Their just friends relax. [sic]"
Commenting on their relationship in a recent interview with Vogue, Bieber stated: "I’m the emotionally unstable one. I struggle with finding peace. I just feel like I care so much and I want things to be so good and I want people to like me. Hailey’s very logical and structured, which I need. I’ve always wanted security—with my dad being gone sometimes when I was a kid, with being on the road. With the lifestyle I live, everything is so uncertain. I need one thing that’s certain. And that is my baby boo."
Meanwhile, Hailey has said: "The thing is, marriage is very hard. That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard. He’ll say, ‘I feel,’ and I’ll say, ‘I think,’ I have to really dive deep and struggle to be in touch with my emotions. He gets there immediately."
She added: "I’m fighting to do this the right way, to build a healthy relationship, I want people to know that. We’re coming from a really genuine place. But we’re two young people who are learning as we go. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy. It’s always going to be hard. It’s a choice. You don’t feel it every single day. You don’t wake up every day saying, ‘I’m so absolutely so in love and you are perfect.’ That’s not what being married is."
