While for a lot of us, our wedding day is one of our happiest, many people look at married life as an indication that they've made it; that once we've found our life partners, we're never going to have problems ever again. Life doesn't quite work that way, and for our latest case study, let's look at Justin Bieber.
Justin Bieber's come a long way since his floppy-haired, teenage heartthrob days, and the fact that we were born in the same month never fails to bum me out when I compare his life to mine. He did, of course, get married to girlfriend Hailey Baldwin last month, but it's not all butterflies and rainbows in the life of Justin Bieber.
Of course, before getting married to Baldwin, Bieber dated Selena Gomez on and off for a long time, breaking up most recently in March of this year, and it's no surprise that he's still got a lot of love for her. So when news emerged that Gomez had suffered an emotional breakdown, checking into a mental health facility on the east coast, we probably shouldn't be too surprised that Bieber felt some of that pain.
First, we had this sobering image of Bieber being comforted in a church after learning of the news. Arriving without Hailey Baldwin, Bieber was almost inconsolable, and had to be comforted by friends as he left. Then, there were pictures of Justin snapped by photographers with Baldwin, showing the popstar looking less than delighted.
"Justin still loves Selena a lot, but as a friend and is praying for her," explained a source close to Bieber, saying that the singer still "wants the best for Selena. When the two rekindled their romance, he got to see how her health really affects her, so he understands how serious this is."
The source also revealed that although he's married now, there's still quite a few issues for Bieber to work through. “He has so much going for him but he doesn’t feel whole,” the source said, adding that thanks to all that's going on in his life: "he's not OK."
"Justin has become a recluse and a changed person. He has no interest in being a celebrity and an artist. He has withdrawn again, much like he did a couple years ago. He started recording music, but just stopped."
TMZ reported that Selena Gomez's breakdown came as she had two health scares in as many weeks, having been "despondent and emotional over an alarmingly low white blood cell count in the wake of her kidney transplant." Not allowed to leave the hospital following her latest visit, she's now undergoing Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to help with her issues.
Although Justin Bieber has just gotten married to Hailey Baldwin and made a conscious effort to try and leave the LA showbiz scene, there's clearly a lot of issues in the 24-year-old's life that still need to be resolved.
