Sydney Sweeney has spoken out about her relationship, including the assumption that her fiancé pays for everything.

Sweeney, 27, is a huge name right now, and just about everybody wants her to be involved in their projects.

Known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus, the actress wants to clear up a misconception about her personal life - specifically regarding her relationship with fiancé Jonathan Davino, 40.

The actress is determined to correct any assumptions that Davino, who is older, financially supports her.

“I’m a very successful, independent woman who’s worked really hard,” Sweeney told Glamour in a recent interview. “I’ve accomplished and bought everything myself, and I provide for myself and my family.”

Sweeney emphasized that Davino, whom she has been dating since 2018, is not involved financially in her production company, Fifty-Fifty Films.

His role, she explained, is more of a supportive partner, offering advice and being a sounding board for her ideas. For Sweeney, being able to share her work with loved ones is one of the most meaningful aspects of her success.

“I would love to set the record straight,” she said. “You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man. We’re teammates. We’re in it together. And we want to see each other succeed.”

Sweeney also underscored that she is financially self-reliant, revealing some of the ways her success has enabled her to give back to her family.

From paying off her mother’s mortgage to flying her grandparents to Italy to visit her on set, and even buying her uncle’s dream boat for the family lake, the actress said these moments help her appreciate just how far she has come.

However, despite her financial success, Sweeney remains cautious, shaped by memories of her family’s financial struggles.

When asked if there’s a certain figure in her bank account that would bring her peace of mind, Sweeney admitted that fear of financial instability still lingers.

“I come from a family where I saw my parents lose everything, and I am terrified of that. That fear will always be instilled in me,” she explained.

“I’m a huge saver. I don’t just go and spend money. I like to invest. I like real estate. I like making, hopefully, smart choices with the money I’m making. But I don’t think I’ll ever actually feel comfortable.”

Sweeney is also keenly aware of the fleeting nature of fame. “You make one wrong move, [and] it’s gone,” she added, acknowledging the volatility of the entertainment industry.
