Twilight star Taylor Lautner and his wife, registered nurse Taylor Lautner, are expanding their family. The expectant parents, who tied the knot in November 2022, revealed back in March that they were expecting their first child together.
When the pair announced the pregnancy, the actor shared a photo of himself kissing his wife's baby bump alongside a baby scan, playfully captioning the moment, "What’s better than two Taylor Lautners?" The couple later shared the news that they are welcoming a baby girl.
Now, the mother-to-be has revealed that the parents are weighing a very familiar option for their daughter's moniker.
During a conversation on the Call Her Daddy podcast, host Alex Cooper asked about potential baby names. Specifically, she questioned, "Was there any consideration of naming your child Taylor?"
The pregnant nurse confirmed that the shared family name is under active consideration. "It may be in the mix," she answered, before adding, "We will find out when the baby comes".
She noted that she felt "so much pressure naming a human," though she acknowledged that fans are fully backing the idea.
The choice would mean all three members of the immediate family share the exact same first name, a scenario the expectant mother finds humorous.
"I feel like if I don’t name my baby Taylor, the Internet’s literally gonna cancel me," she joked during the interview. She added, "I’m gonna get cancelled".
However, she questioned if fans truly want to see the triple-naming tradition come to pass, asking, "But I’m like, guys, are you really gonna want that name?"
She also noted that using the moniker was a long-standing idea regardless of gender. "We used to always joke that if we’re having a boy, we’d name him Taylor and call him T.J", she shared. Right now, there are about three to five options that she and her husband are considering.
Needless to say, fans had a lot to say about this, with one writing on X: "But what if they do have the boy next how you gon name him Taylor if u name the girl Taylor."
Another pointed out: "The girl can also be Taylor Junior because it's also the mother's name."
Sharing news publicly has not always been easy for the pair. After announcing the pregnancy in March, the nurse admitted that she felt like a "weight had been lifted."
She confessed that she was stressed that someone would leak the news before they were ready, recalling how an intimate photo of their first look was leaked the day after their 2022 wedding.
The couple recently celebrated their baby shower in August, complete with pink decor and a gathering of loved ones. Looking ahead to parenthood, the couple also plans to keep their daughter off social media for privacy reasons, though the mother-to-be noted her stance could shift in the future.
