Sometimes it feels like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle really are the cutest couple - the pair that everyone else probably aspires to be. Personally I struggle to think of another new member of the royal family who the public's fallen in love with as quickly as Meghan. She just seems to get everything right, and although her and Harry have only been married a few months, they're already giving us all relationship goals to strive for.
For example, it turns out that even before they were official, Harry was absolutely head-over-heels in love with the former Suits actress. If you don't believe me then explain why the prince spent thousands of pounds on a touching gift for Meghan way back in October 2016 - just days before he publicly announced that he was dating Markle.
Yes, it turns out that, two years ago Harry forked out for a super-cute painting from an exclusive art gallery in London, which he subsequently gifted to his future wife. The piece was allegedly called: 'Everybody Needs Somebody to Love' by British artist Van Donna - an acrylic, stencil and spray piece showing a boy and girl holding hands, alongside the words "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love." Even more adorable is the fact that the artwork is a diptych, meaning that the two parts are intended to be shared by two people. Awwwww!
The local art collector who sold the artwork to the prince told People magazine that: "Harry is one of the regulars in the area and regularly goes into the shops and galleries with his bodyguard, kind of in stealth mode. He was in the gallery for a little while and liked a few things, then settled on the Van Donna. He said he was looking for something for 'an important person.' It was literally just before anyone heard about Meghan—literally just days before it was announced he was going out with her."
They added: "At the time nobody knew about Meghan Markle, but if it was for her then it’s a very romantic gesture. It’s a bit like a charm bracelet — where you give half of it to someone you’re involved with and keep the other half yourself. We should all learn something from it, I think."
As if that wasn't adorable enough, then just wait till you hear about Oz, the Labrador retriever adopted by the couple earlier this month, who has been spotted playing with the two of them at their cottage at Kensington Palace. It's thought that the pup's name is a reference to the couple’s first official royal tour (scheduled for this autumn) which will take them to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
So men out there: if you want to know just how you can impress a special lady in your life, then why not take a leaf out of Harry's book and opt for some special artwork. Sounds like a good idea to me!
