If you're anything like me, there's been a gaping void in your life ever since Blair Waldorf, Serena Van Der Woodsen and Lonely Boy left the silver screen. On Wednesday, however, Kristen Bell was spotted assuming her old role as the voice of Gossip Girl, and suddenly everything was alright in the world again.

The Good Place actress slipped back in her GG alter-ego to read Donald Trump's tweets as the omniscient narrator. "We feel as though a lot of Donald Trump's tweets feel very gossipy," Meyers explained to Bell during the show. "And so, we have asked if you wouldn't mind reading a few of them with the classic Gossip Girl sendoff."

As you can imagine, the results were equal parts hilarious and unsettling...

The first tweet to get the Gossip Girl treatment was one from the 24th August 2018: "Ex-NSA contractor to spend 63 months in jail over 'classified' information." Bell interpreted this as, "Gee, this is 'small potatoes' compared to what Hillary Clinton did! So unfair Jeff, Double Standard. XOXO, Gossip Girl."

The next tweet was from May last year, when Trump attempted to joke about his now-iconic typo, "covfefe", which he invented when he misspelled "coverage". "Who can figure out the true meaning of 'covfefe'???" Bell asserted. "Enjoy! XOXO, Gossip Girl"

"These do sound like the things that were written on the show," Bell remarked to Meyers.

For the final tweet, Meyers chose one from August 2014, in which Trump attacked him personally. "Congratulations to @sethmeyers on 'Emmys Rating Tumble'," Bell read. "Just as I predicted, Seth bombed! XOXO, Gossip Girl."

Of course, just reading these tweets doesn't do them justice - watch the clip below to see Bell in full Gossip Girl mode...

Twitter loved Bell's turn as the one and only source into the White House. "Kristen Bell on @sethmeyers reading Trump’s tweets as xoxo #GossipGirl is pure awesome," one Twitter user wrote, while another added "This made me so happy: @IMKristenBell reads Trump tweets as #GossipGirl. Thank you, @sethmeyers."

"We don't deserve Kristen bell," a third wrote.

The mother-of-two didn't make an actual appearance on the teen drama until its final episode in 2012, where she played herself in a cameo with OC star, Rachel Bilson.

While we're not likely to see Bell reprise her Gossip Girl persona for quite some time now, there is another reboot in the works for her. It's been announced that the Noughties cult hit, Veronica Mars, is making a comeback, and once again, its set to star Bell as the titular character. It originally ran for three seasons, and originally aired in 2004 and ran till 2007. It is due to make its return on Hulu in 2019.

Now, I don't know about you, but I just can't wait. Here's hoping that a Gossip Girl reboot is also on the cards...
