TV stars explain why they did not have any sex for duration of four-year marriage
Summer House stars Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula have revealed that they were not intimate at any point during their four-year marriage.
The former couple opened up about their struggles during part two of the season 10 reunion, as the cast reunited in New York City to unpack the drama that unfolded both on and off screen.
The hit Bravo reality series follows a group of friends who spend their summers sharing a house in Southampton, NYC.
Cooke and Batula's bombshell admission
At one point in the reunion, host Andy Cohen asked the former couple about ongoing issues in their relationship.
"How many years was it that needs weren't being met?" he asked. Batula didn't hesitate with her answer. "Four," she replied.
Cooke agreed, adding that they didn't sleep together "the entire time" they were married.
The 43-year-old continued, describing their marriage as a "very unhappy marriage".
The moment Batula decided the marriage was over
The 34-year-old actress revealed that she made the decision to end the relationship on New Year's Day.
"The nail in the coffin was New Year's Day for me... Kyle and I were bickering, whatever, I didn't go to New Year's with him. I spent it by myself, he spent it DJing at a restaurant, whatever," she said.
"I woke up the next morning, and I saw that he was at a hotel in Hoboken, [New Jersey]. I'm going into 2026 wanting to have a fresh start, and he's doing the same s*** that he was doing that was pissing me off before," she added.
After returning from the holiday break, Batula said she immediately took steps to make their split public.
"I contacted Bravo PR immediately," she explained. "And I said, 'I want to put out a statement, because I don't want people watching this season thinking that Kyle and I are still together after I was treated this way.'"
Cooke offered a different perspective on how the announcement unfolded.
"We split the day we put the statement out," he said. "The only conversation we had about, like, 'Are we officially ending things?' was when we wrote the statement."
He also claimed he "didn't have a chance to tell my family" about the separation because Batula wanted the statement released as quickly as possible.
The couple's joint statement
The reality TV stars' statement was shared on Instagram Stories, and it read: "After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple. We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing."
The statement continued: "It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we've always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter."
Cooke and Batula got engaged in 2018 after two years together. The couple had originally planned to marry in September 2020 but postponed their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic before eventually tying the knot in September 2021.
Batula has since moved on and is now dating Cooke's friend and fellow Summer House star West Wilson, News.com.au reported.
The third and final part of the Summer House Season 10 reunion is set to air on June 10 on Bravo.
