Cody Simpson responds to rumours he and Miley Cyrus have split

Cody Simpson has responded to rumors that he and Milkey Cyrus have split. The news comes after an image of the 22-year-old allegedly kissing a mystery woman emerged - a cheating accusation which he has denied.

The woman was later identified as Playboy’s December 2019 playmate Jordy Murray, 26.

But in a subsequent interview with Page Six, he said: "It was a great Christmas out in Nashville." He then added that his relationship with Cyrus, 27, was "great" and that the rumors of his alleged infidelity were "stupid".

The rumors of the kiss leading to a split were also slammed by Simpson's sister, Ali. She told the Daily Mail: "Yes, (they're) together for sure."

Rumors of the alleged split were fulled by the pairs' relative absence from social media together in recent weeks.

They were last photographed together at a Los Angeles charity function in early December. Since then, they have failed to like or comment on each other's posts, let alone feature in them, despite still following each other on social media.

Even more fuel was added to the fire by Cyrus, who wrote she was "lonely" over the festive period, and her release of a new single entitled the Sad Christmas Song.

"A sad Christmas song I wrote a few years back right before the holidays. Was feeling like sh*t cause I couldn't be with the one I loved. Even with a house full of family and friends I still felt alone…" Cyrus wrote, alongside a link to the track.

"In ways that still feels relevant and someone reading this right now could possibly relate! If you feel lonely this season just know YOU ARE COMPLETELY MADE OF MAGIC! Meanwhile, Cyrus' ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, is alleged to be introducing his new rumored girlfriend, model Gabriella Brooks, to his parents in Australia, as per the Metro.
