Fans have rushed to the defense of David Beckham after he kissed his 12-year-old daughter on the lips.
Taking to Instagram, the former Manchester United soccer player posted a video in which he kissed his daughter Harper on the lips while she applied make-up on his face while the pair were getting ready to go and support Victoria Beckham during Paris Fashion Week.
"My little makeup artist is good & has a great playlist @taylorswift... We are on our way mummy @victoriabeckham," the 48-year-old wrote in the caption.
Have a look at the video in question below:While a lot of people were focused on the fact that one of the world's most legendary soccer players was also a Swiftie, others were too hooked on the fact that he kissed his daughter on the mouth.
"Beautiful daddy daughter bond but a kiss on the lips doesn’t look right. She is a young lady now not a toddler," wrote one critic.
However, a bunch of other social media users jumped to the star's defense, urging the haters to leave the pair alone.
"I love this! My own precious Dad always kissed me in the lips! She’s only 12 for goodness sake, get a grip!" wrote one user while another added: "Every girl needs a father like this in her life."
A third wrote: "If only every little girl in the world had a daddy like Becks! What great childhoods they would have an what fantastic people they’d pick as partners for themselves."
And this user described the moment as "Absolutely heart melting to watch," adding: 'What a superb father and role model."
"Just fell in love with David Beckham all over again," this user commented under the video.
Others also recalled their own experiences from childhood saying: "From someone who grew up without a dad this is nothing but beautiful bond between daddy and his princess..."

Now this has been a topic of discussion for the Beckhams for a long time now.
Back in 2017, the father-of-four was forced to speak out about his methods of affection after receiving a flurry of backlash for kissing his kids on the lips.
"I kiss all my kids on the lips," he said during a Facebook Live that was posted at the time. "Brooklyn maybe not... Brooklyn [was then] 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up - and Victoria - and it's how we are with our children."
He continued, emphasizing the fact that he prioritizes showing affection to all of his children: "We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them," before adding: "Having children is the most special thing in the world."

The negativity has not stopped the superstar couple posting more pictures of them kissing their daughter on the lips. Since then, both Beckhams have posted photos on their social media with Harper even despite the haters.
We can't help but stan!
