Days of Our Lives viewers are stunned as the series took things up a notch with the first-ever threesome scene.

On October 10, the series featured a storyline in which three of the characters - Allie Horton, played by Lindsay Arnold, Chanel Dupree, played by Raven Bowens, and Alex Kiriakis played by Robert Scott Wilson - engage in a consensual threesome.

For those unaware, Allie, who identifies as bisexual, and Chanel, who identifies as sexually fluid, are two women in a same-sex relationship.

The steamy scene marks the first time any daytime television has shown a group sex scene as it has been a line never crossed on national television.

The scene left a bad taste for many viewers, as they took to their social media page to share their strong opinions.

One user wrote: "That was so desperate of DOOL writing in a threesome playing the p*rn music in the background? I didn’t watch Days in 2 + weeks I come back to this TRASH."

Another person commented: "@DaysPeacock DAYS of our Lives is disgusting now!! I have watched for over 40 years - I didn’t know it could get any more disgusting but now they have young people having threesomes! No wonder our country spiraling out of control."

A third said: "Days of Our Lives going all out to be offensive and biphobic. Nothing historical or good about that threesome storyline. Pull that crap with a straight pairing, not the solo female pairing. #Days"

A fourth remarked: "I can’t believe that #Days went there with a nasty a** threesome. The creator of #DOOL must be turning over because the integrity of the show has/is being tarnished. What a shame, that’s garbage is not what viewers want to see."

Meanwhile, other viewers enjoyed the scene and applauded the show's ability to represent a wider group of interests.

One user praised: "Well, I was worried about how the threesome scenes would play out, but I must say...they were well done. They were classy and sexy without being too much. #Days."

Another said: "Meanwhile, roughly half of the show's current mix of characters has been raped or abused to some degree, but the consensual threesome is where the pearl clutchers draw the line. Get over yourselves."

A third wrote: "Not sure I really understand all this outrage for #Days airing a consensual threesome. Choice of characters aside, it was quite a tame scene, tastefully done. You can’t tell me Beauregard wasn’t doing the same at that age. This dialogue aired almost 40 years ago. #DaysofourLives"

Many viewers presumed that the scene was green-lit because of the show's move to Peacock, which means it has more flexibility with the content it shows.

The official switch to the streaming service happened last month after nearly 60 historic years of airing on NBC from 1965 to 2022.

New episodes of Days of Our Lives are available on Peacock at 6:00AM ET on weekdays.
