It's time to get excited because a Dodgeball sequel is on the way and Vince Vaughn is returning - with people working to convince Ben Stiller to come back.
The original Dodgeball movie was an instant hit and if it taught us one thing, it's the five D's of Dodgeball - dodge, duck, dip, dive, and... dodge.
The movie centered around Peter La Fleur (played by Vince Vaughn) trying to save his Average Joe's Gymnasium from being taken over by Globo Gym.
It all sounds fairly mundane until you add in the variety of hilarious characters who have no right to be in an international sporting competition - like Steve the Pirate.
The feature holds so many iconic moments because now most of the world knows that if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.
With the first movie coming to a happy conclusion, there haven't been too many calls for a sequel - but we're getting one anyway and we couldn't be more excited!
As reported by Deadline, Vaughn is set to return in the upcoming movie which is currently in early development.
It'll be great to get the entire gang back together, including Christine Taylor and Justin Long amongst others - but the pressing question is whether Stiller will return.
Rewatch the trailer for the 2004 movie:Stiller played the antagonist White Goodman who was left a little worse for wear at the end of the 2004 movie after Chuck Norris had his say.
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Justin Long spoke about the efforts that are being made to convince Stiller to return.
"Of course, I would love to do it and I hope that it ends up happening, but I think Ben [Stiller] is a little… what he told me on that podcast was that he’s a little trepidatious about doing a sequel to something so beloved, something that people enjoy so much that," he told the outlet.
It's not clear whether Rawson Marshall Thurber, who wrote and directed the original, will be involved yet, but he had previously spoken to Deadline about wanting to expand the Dodgeball universe.
"You know what — never say never. I never thought about Dodgeball as a series, but that actually might be fun," Thurber said.
He continued: "I’m really proud of Dodgeball — it’s my first film and something people still really like it seems. I would say never say never, and it would have to be the right take on it. But yeah, maybe."
The plot of the new movie is under wraps, but we're sure whatever they come up with will be hilarious.
As the old saying goes, if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.
