Fans have taken to social media to applaud Tallulah Willis after she shared a post exposing a cruel troll.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the 29-year-old opened up about some of the vile body-shaming comments she receives on a regular basis, posting screenshots of some private DMs.

In the images, you can see an Instagram troll messaging Willis repeatedly, referring to her as "fat", even going as far as sending her images of herself alongside the statements.

The actress, who has revealed that she used to suffer from an eating disorder, took to the caption to explain why she shared the pictures.

"I think it’s important to share this, that this happens, that this happens to a healing person in recovery, who has been honest about how very sick she was/is and is working daily to find safety and home within her skin," she wrote. "It felt really important to show you this, that this happens. I'm very thankful I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t become dismantled by strangers words (for the most part).

"I love you and I like you - myself, buuskis included!", she added before hashtagging the post "#edsupport #edrecovery."

Fans praised the star for her courage to be able to be so open while also providing support saying: "You don’t deserve this at all. Please tag this person! This people deserve to be held accountable for their words and actions. This is horrible."

However, others urged the star to drop the user's username so that they can take matters into their own hands.

"Tag them so I can give them some kind words..." while another added: "Girl drop their @ real quick I wanna see something."

A third also described the comments made by the troll as "cringey" stating that "they should be ashamed."

Amongst those were also supportive members of the Willis family who turned up to offer their kind words too.

Her mom Demi Moore commented: "I am so proud of you! People often can only reflect their own fear. Be you in all your forms and keep shining your gorgeous glorious light!"

Willis' sister Scout also added: "I am so proud of you, and proud of the hard work you put in every day, and luckily for you, me and everyone who loves you, this person is but a mere footnote in your story, and unfortunately for them, they have to be themselves forever, and i wish them literally one IOTA of the grace, growth and self love you show every single day."

"I’m so sorry Tallulah," wrote Emma Hemming Willis, who is now married to the 29-year-old's father, Bruce. "You’ve summoned the mama bears on here who would like to know who this person is."

Willis has previously been open with her struggles, revealing that she has suffered from an eating disorder as well as body dysmorphia and addiction.

In 2021, she took to social media to open up about the fact that she became resentful about looking like her father as opposed to her mother.

"I punished myself for not looking like my mom, after being told I was BW twin since birth," she wrote. "I resented the resemblance as I believed wholly my 'masculine' face was the sole reason for my unlovability – FALSE!

"I was/am inherently valuable and worthy, at any life stage, at any size, with any hair do! (As are you)," she continued before adding some helpful tips about how she deals with her thoughts and struggles.

Tallulah Willis is an inspiration to us all and we hope that her journey to full recovery is smooth and filled with pockets of joy!
