Fans have been left scratching their heads after hearing how Rihanna pronounces her own name.

The star appeared alongside her boyfriend A$AP Rocky for the brand's iconic Face to Face interview three years ago and while the interview proved to be a hilarious insight into the couple's relationship dynamics, it also became a hot talking point for another reason.

While introducing the resurfaced video, the 'Don't Stop The Music' singer introduced herself and her man stating: "Hey GQ, its Rihanna and I'm going 'Face to Face' with A$AP Rocky."

A pretty standard intro, right? Well, fans couldn't help but point out the manner in which the Barbados-born musician said her name.

Fans took to the comments to exclaim: "Just realized I’ve never heard Rihanna say her own name until now."

"I actually never knew she pronounced her name like that," another added.

A third even tried to spell out the pronunciation commenting: "Rih-Anna."

Now, speculation around the pronunciation of the star's name has been a question of debate for ages now, even despite Rihanna herself clearing it up years ago in an interview with Showbiz Tonight.

I'm not exactly sure why the world seems to have trouble pronouncing three simple syllables, but they do, and we're here to clear it up once and for all.

The outlet caught up with her on the red carpet of the Time 100 Gala, where she was being honored as part Time's 100 Most Influential People List back in 2012 when they popped the question.

"Let's set the record straight on something. I get in fights with people all the time. When you introduce yourself to me all those years ago - because you almost didn't expect people to know who you were - you said Ri-An-Ah," the interviewer says.

"I knew this was the question," the star responds. "It is Ri-An-Ah. But-"

However, he cuts her off and says: "Thank you, no no - that's all we need to know."

Rihanna laughs and re-confirms the stance stating: "He's right. Whatever he said."

Over the past few years, Rihanna has shifted her focus from her music to health and beauty through her brand Fenty Beauty. From the release of new Gloss Bomb shades to even releasing her own lingerie side hustle Savage in collaboration with Fenty, she has made waves in the industry.

Beyond her business ventures, she's also raising two little ones with Rocky.

They welcomed their first son RZA back in May 2022 and then just a year later their family grew one bigger with their second son Riot Rose Mayers who was born on August 1.

Now somebody's going to have to tell me how to pronounce "RZA".
