Happy birthday to one of the most-loved names in the music and acting industry!

On this special occasion, we are celebrating singer and actress Selena Gomez, who turned 31 on Saturday (July 22).

Born on July 22, 1992, in Texas, Gomez achieved fame at a very young age by featuring alongside Demi Lovato on the children's television series, Barney & Friends.

Then as a teenager, she continued to rise to prominence by starring as Alex Russo in the popular Disney Channel TV drama, Wizards of Waverly Place, and alongside that, she appeared in film projects like Monte Carlo, Prince Protection, and Another Cinderella Story.

Gomez soon tapped into her musical side by releasing her first album in 2009 with her former band, Selena Gomez & the Scene. The group released three albums that reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

She then became one of the most popular contemporary artists after going solo, and releasing her debut album, Stars Dance (2013), which topped the U.S. Billboard 200, while its lead single, 'Come & Get It,' reached the top ten in the US Billboard Hot 100.

The 'Love You Like A Love Song' songstress then put out her second studio album Revival (2015,) which spawned hits 'Good For You', 'Same Old Love', 'Hands To Myself,' and her third studio album, Rare (2020), which became her third consecutive number one in the US, and it's lead single, 'Lose You to Love Me,' was her first number-one song in the US and Canada.

In addition to this, Gomez is the most followed woman on Instagram and has received various accolades such as Emmy nominations for the TV show Only Murders in the Building, and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017.

Gomez celebrated her 31st birthday on Saturday with an extravagant, star-studded bash. She sported a fiery red structured mini dress with floral details as she mingled with Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Karol G, and Sabrina Claudio.

In celebration of her big day, many of her supporters - who are known as the Selenators - have taken to the social media platform to wish her a happy birthday.

One fan wrote: " SLAYLENA!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANGEL. SELENATOR SINCE 2011, SELENATOR FOREVER."

Another said: "HAPPIEST ONE SELENA. YOU LOOK JUST LIKE A QUEEN !!!!! WE LOVE YOU."

Paris Hilton added: "Happy Birthday beautiful! So much fun celebrating with you last night."

A fourth fan gushed: "The hair. the makeup. the dress. the matching shoes. she’s the definition of beauty."

In another Instagram post, the 'Lose You To Love Me' singer went on to request donations to the Rare Impact Fund instead of birthday presents.

"People keep asking me what I want for my birthday, and I tell everyone the same thing," she wrote in the caption. "Please do not get me anything but if you want to do something for my birthday, please donate to the Rare Impact Fund.

"If you have the means, consider donating to help us make a difference. I LOVE YOU ALL!", she concluded.

Happy birthday, Selena Gomez!
