Nearly 30 years after the original, Adam Sandler returns as the slapshot-swinging golfer in the sequel set for a 2025 debut. But the legendary Sandler isn’t the only star lighting up the greens.

As well as the beloved main cast, the first movie - released in 1996 - also hosted a number of hilarious cameos, from stars like Bob Barker, Richard Kiel, and Kevin Nealon. And it is only fitting the second installment promises more of the same...

Adam Sandler Returns as Happy Gilmore

No surprises here. Adam Sandler reprises his iconic role as Happy Gilmore, the fiery hockey player-turned-golfing sensation.

In the trailer, Gilmore is back with his signature unorthodox tee shot, wearing his Boston Bruins hockey jersey and work boots. Fans also see him giddily celebrating a shot by riding his golf club like a horse and delivering a triumphant, “Yeah, baby!”

Julie Bowen Is Back

It looks like Happy’s love life is also back in play, with Julie Bowen reprising her role as Virginia Venit, the former PGA Tour publicist who remains Gilmore’s romantic interest.

In one heartwarming moment, Venit tells Gilmore, “We’ve only just begun,” before the pair share a kiss.

Travis Kelce Makes a Big-Screen Debut

NFL star Travis Kelce, fresh off another standout season with the Kansas City Chiefs (and plenty of headlines with Taylor Swift), opens the trailer with the first line.

“It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore,” he says, welcoming Sandler's Gilmore back to the greens in a suave ensemble complete with slicked-back hair.

Kelce’s precise role in the film remains under wraps, but Sandler teased the cameo during an August appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “Travis mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis,” Sandler hinted at the time.

Bad Bunny Joins the Cast as Happy’s Caddie

Grammy-winning reggaetón artist Bad Bunny trades the stage for the golf course as Happy Gilmore’s caddie.

In the teaser, he dons the classic caddie outfit and appears to be all smiles.

Bad Bunny - who just so happens to be one of the biggest music artists on the planet right now - was confirmed for the movie by Netflix in September, adding yet another layer of intrigue to the sequel’s cast lineup.

Christopher McDonald Returns as Shooter McGavin

Has there ever been a bad guy who you love to hate more?

Shooter McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald, remains as smarmy as ever.

The trailer teases a tense graveyard showdown between Gilmore and McGavin near a headstone marked "Peterson," a possible nod to Gilmore’s mentor, Chubbs Peterson (originally played by Carl Weathers). McDonald hinted at the sequel in a March 2024 interview, and fans are eager to see the iconic rivalry reignited.

Eminem Bringing Comedy to the Course?

Though absent from the teaser, Eminem’s role in Happy Gilmore 2 has already generated buzz.

Sandler has already praised the rapper’s “unforgettable, hilarious performance” in a single-day shoot earlier this year, though he’s kept the details of the cameo tightly under wraps.

Additional Stars and Surprises

The star-studded cast also includes Margaret Qualley (The Substance), comedian Nick Swardson (a frequent Sandler collaborator), Scott Mescudi (better known as rapper Kid Cudi), and Benny Safdie, who co-directed Sandler in Uncut Gems.

Sandler co-wrote the script with Tim Herlihy, mirroring their collaboration on the original 1996 comedy. With a mix of old favorites and exciting new faces, Happy Gilmore 2 is shaping up to be an epic return to the fairway.
