Disney is now offering a bundle streaming service which is guaranteed to be on par, if not cheaper, than its competitors.

Available from November 12, and retailing at just $12.99 a month, the bundle will combine three services - Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu. The exciting announcement was made at Disney's investor call by CEO Bob Iger.

This means that it's the same price, if not slightly less, than Disney+'s biggest competitors, Netflix and Amazon Prime. It's also significantly less expensive than HBO Max, which is rumoured to be costing $16-$17 a month.

Individually, Hulu costs $5.99 a month and ESPN+ $4.99 a month. In case you're unfamiliar with the latter, it's Disney's sports streaming platform which contains "hundreds of MLB, NHL and MLS games, Grand Slam tennis, Top Rank boxing, PGA Tour golf, college sports, international rugby, cricket, the full library of ESPN Films including 30 for 30, and more."

As it stands, it's not known if the bundle service will be available in this form internationally, as there are regional issues with content. Hulu, for example, isn't currently available in Canada.

Regardless, Iger described Disney+ as "the most important product the company has launched in my tenure."

In a press release, he said: "The positive response to our direct-to-consumer strategy has been gratifying, and the integration of the businesses we acquired from 21st Century Fox only increases our confidence in our ability to leverage decades of iconic storytelling and the powerful creative engines across the entire company to deliver an extraordinary value proposition to consumers."

"It is believed that people will be able to purchase Disney+ through "Amazon, Apple, and other distributors," Iger also disclosed.

However, Disney has yet to finalise its distribution platforms but informed its investors "we feel it's important for us to achieve scale quickly, and we think it's going to be an important part of that. They’re all interested in distributing the product."

"That $12.99 bundle offers consumers tremendous volume, tremendous quality, and tremendous variety for a good price."
