Christmas is well and truly on its way now - the nights are drawing in, there's a definite winter chill in the air and we're all stressing about buying presents for our friends and family.

Yes, while 2020 has been the strangest of all years, Christmas is a time of year for traditions and for many people festive movies play an important part in their enjoyment of the most wonderful time of the year.

Indeed, companies are jumping on the bandwagon when it comes to festive movie-themed products, and you can now even buy an Elf version of Monopoly.

In Monopoly: Elf, you’ll "join Buddy the Elf in the magical land of New York City, and relive his adventures as he explores new places, finds his father, and saves Christmas with Santa".

The game's rules read: "Celebrating the classic holiday comedy, this custom edition of MONOPOLY will have you collecting and trading wonderous landmarks along the path of Buddy's journey, like Santa's Workshop, Gimbel's Toy Department, and the Lincoln Tunnel.

"Grab a token and your elf shoes, and travel around the board spreading Christmas cheer - and don't forget to sing loud for all to hear!"

Meanwhile, Elf fans have been noting a sweet detail from the movie, and what's more the film's producer has weighed in with an explanation.

One mom put her Christmas decorations up three months early in a bid to spread festive cheer:

We all remember the seen where Buddy meets the Gimbels department store manager played by Faizon Love and all hell is let loose, however what you might not have noticed before is that Love's character's name badge reads Wanda.

There's a good reason for this though, as the movie's producer Jon Berg explained as part of Netflix's behind-the-scenes series The Holiday Movies That Made Us.

"We really wanted Wanda Sykes, but she dropped out at the last minute," he explained.

"Favreau (director Jon Favreau) knew Faizon Love and called him up. He came in and did us a solid, but his name tag says Wanda.

"We were so convinced we had her that we did the name tag. So he wanted to wear the Wanda name tag."

After the detail was pointed out on Reddit, fans took to comment favorably on Faizon Love's performance.

"Kinda glad she bailed. Faizon does such a great job in that role." One commenter wrote, while another added, "The way he looks at Buddy after he returns after assaulting Santa, this dude is the cherry on top of an amazing movie."
