Arya Stark may say "not today, death", but other characters in Game of Thrones didn't have a choice last night. The penultimate offering from the hit HBO show saw character after character perish and we were on the edge of our seats, waiting to see who'd go next.

If your heart is still going at a thousand beats per minute after sitting through those 80 minutes of terror and your memory is a bit foggy, here's a refresher on who we said goodbye to last night. Don't know about you, but I'm off for a post-episode lie-down.

Cersei and Jamie Lannister

In what was an incredibly controversial double death scene with fans, Cersei and Jamie Lannister died in each others' arms last night, with the ceiling collapsing in the tunnels beneath King's Landing, crushing them both.

Did you love or hate Cersei and Jamie's deaths? Have a rewatch and see what you think:

Lord Varys

Varys was executed by Daenerys' dragon Drogon after betraying the Queen. Fans can comfort themselves with the knowledge that he died doing what he loved best: snitching.

The Hound and The Mountain

It was the fight that all fans had waited years to see - and it didn't disappoint. Enemy brothers The Hound and The Mountain perished at the hands of one another in an epic fight that we'll be rewatching again and again.

And again, and again, and again:

Euron Greyjoy

Finally, Euron Greyjoy met his doom at the hands of Jamie Lannister, after taunting him about sleeping with Cersei. Good riddance!

Qyburn

In what was likely the fastest Game of Thrones death ever, Cersei's last remaining loyalist was squished like a bug by The Mountain after he ordered him to defend the flailing queen instead of fight his brother.

Harry Strickland

Harry Strickland, the formidable captain of the Golden Company, was skewered by none other than Grey Worm.
