The final ever episode of Game of Thrones is airing tomorrow evening, but if it was up to hundreds of thousands of fans, this would not be the case. From Danaerys' sudden turn into the Mad Queen to Jaime and Cersei's "meh" deaths to the fact Jon didn't say goodbye to Ghost - people are not happy.

Despite the fact that the war for Westeros' Iron Throne is finally coming to an end after eight years of jaw-dropping television, many of the series' most dedicated followers are not content with the way the eight series has gone - with many of them choosing to sign an online petition calling for the season eight to be remade.

This is the trailer for tomorrow's final ever episode. Do you think it'll be the pay off the fans deserve?

The petition, titled 'Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers', has already been signed by 948,242 people, as of this writing. Dylan D., who started the now infamous petition, writes:

"David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.

"This series deserves a final season that makes sense.

"Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!"

Well, as you'd expect, this petition and the backlash to the final season has irked several people, both on and off the show.

Lili Reinhart, who stars as  Betty Cooper in Riverdale, bashed those who are "demanding" that HBO remake the final season.

She wrote on an Instagram post shared by Variety:

"This is not how television works. TV shows are not fan service. It's ridiculous of people to think they can demand creative change from artists."

But now Game of Thrones stars are fighting back against the petition. Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays the eye-rolling Bran Stark, has also deemed the petition "ridiculous". Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 22-year-old actor said:

"It’s just absurd. I can’t even fathom it. It’s just ridiculous.

"It’s ridiculous that people think they can just demand a different ending because they don’t like it. I have stupidly taken it quite personally, which obviously I shouldn’t."

Many people think this vision of Bran's from season 4 is going to play a huge part in the final episode:

The star also revealed that he was personally a huge fan of the series' conclusion, and that Daenerys' turn into the 'Mad Queen' had been well foreshadowed in previous seasons:

"In my opinion, it’s a great ending.

"People have complained there wasn’t enough foreshadowing but time upon time, she’s demonstrated a capacity to be quite brutal.

"She’s waited years and years to get over to Westeros and take what is hers. She’s been delayed. She’s had to fight an army of literal dead people.

"She nearly died. She’s lost Jorah (Iain Glen), Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) and now the person she’s deeply in love with isn’t comfortable with her and he threatens the claim she’s had for years.

"She’s sick of it. She’s p**sed off and she’s lost her mind.

"I don’t think it’s some plot twist to be shocking for the sake of shocking. I think it’s a genuine character development."

This is that iconic moment Danaerys turned into the "Mad Queen" - was it justified?

With so many fans around the world, I guess you can't please everyone.
