Google has become well-known for altering its homepage in celebration of various events. While most of the time it's simply reflected in a cool new graphic of the Google sign, on occasion, they can be interactive.
Now, to celebrate the release of Avengers: Endgame in the US today, when you Google "Thanos", a small gauntlet will appear next to his name and character description - and when you click on it, some magic happens.
To put the importance of this cinematic release into context, there have a been a whopping 22 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Avengers: Endgame is the cumulation of them all.
To see what happens when you click on Google's Thanos gauntlet, check out the video below:If you'd like to test this awesome Easter egg out for yourself, all you have to do is click the gauntlet that appears next to Thanos' character description and name on Google.
Once you have, its fingers will snap and your page will literally destruct, scrolling down to search results and turning them to dust at random.
Then, once it's over, the number of search results for the fictional character will drop from around 94,800,000 to 47,400,000.
However, if you are actually Googling the character to find out more about him and not just see the Easter egg, you can restore your search results to normal by clicking on the gauntlet again. Pretty neat, eh?!
But this isn't the only part of the internet that's changed to mark the release of Avengers: Endgame. Pornhub has reported a 2912% increase in searches for Avengers-related content since April 19. That equates to two million searches.
