The new series has been highly anticipated, with fans across the world eager to get a glimpse of the new cast.
Vital roles have already been filled, such as Jon Lithgow portraying Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu stepping into the shoes of Severus Snape, and Janet McTeer playing Minerva McGonagall.
Fan favorite Nick Frost, who is best known for his roles in Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, has also been cast as Rubeus Hagrid.
Well, the all-important trio have been announced with big shoes to fill after Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint made the roles their own in the original movies.
Taking on the iconic role of the Boy Who Lived is newcomer Dominic McLaughlin.
Joining him at the heart of the magical trio are Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, per a press release.
Announced today (May 27), the trio of “screen newcomers” will headline the new HBO series, which promises to bring J.K. Rowling’s beloved books to life in a whole new way.
Behind the scenes, the production lineup reads like a who’s who of prestige TV. The series is being executive produced by J.K. Rowling herself, alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films - the same powerhouse behind the original Harry Potter movies.
Showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner, known for her work on Succession and His Dark Materials, is writing the series, while Mark Mylod (Succession, Game of Thrones) will direct multiple episodes and serve as an executive producer.

In a joint statement, Gardiner and Mylod said: “After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
"The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”
Filming is expected to kick off this summer, and while no release date has been confirmed just yet, anticipation is already sky-high.
