After eight years of build-up, Game of Thrones aired its most tense and nail-biting episode yet: The Long Night. The third episode of the last season saw the combined forces of Westeros face off against the horrific undead army of the Night King at Winterfell. It was an epic battle that saw several fan-favourite characters kick the bucket, including (spoilers) Jorah Mormont, Melisandre, and Theon Greyjoy. In the end, the living triumphed over the dead, and the Night's King was slain by none other than Arya Stark.

Indeed, after many years of hype and fan speculation, a lot of people were never going to be totally satisfied with what the showrunners brought to the screen.
