On Friday, Netflix dropped the latest installment in their 'Haunting' series with The Haunting of Bly Manor.
And if you're anything like me, you spent the entire weekend binge-watching the hotly anticipated horror drama, looking for all the subtle details show creator Mike Flanagan became known for thanks to Hill House.
Check out the trailer for The Haunting of Bly Manor below: Yes, there were several similarities Bly Manor shared with Hill House - and not just 80% of the same cast. Eagle-eyed viewers will have been scanning their screens to try and spot all the "hidden ghosts" that became so popular in the first installment of the show.
And despite catching a good dozen upon my first watch, it turns out there were over 50 creepy ghouls hidden in Bly Manor.
**It should go without saying, but SPOILERS ahead** How many of these do you spot?
1. An easy one to start with. Dani's ex-fiancé in London. Episode 1 at 06:16: Credit: 1472 2. And in the righthand corner as Flora discusses the "perfectly splendid" stairs, the plague doctor can be seen. Episode 1 at 20:52: Credit: 1886 3. And just seconds later, the plague doctor can be seen again behind the banister. Episode 1 at 21:01: Credit: 2270 4. And a silhouette can be seen in the mirror at 22:19 in episode 1: Credit: 2627 5. Another creepy figure can be seen behind miles in episode 1 at 24:57: Credit: 2980 6. And at 26:16 in episode 1, the hat and mask of the plague doctor can be seen behind Dani in the bathroom: Credit: 3369 7. Once again in episode 1, a figure can be seen lurking behind Flora's bedroom door at 27:55: Credit: 3744 8. And that same figure can then be seen in the mirror at 27:51 in episode 1: Credit: 4102 9. Another ghoul can be seen in episode 1 at 28:44 as Flora tells Dani to put the doll of Viola back: Credit: 4484 10. The plague doctor once again in episode 1 at 29:40, as she tells Flora to get some sleep: Credit: 4859 11. Difficult one to spot here, but in episode 1 at 31:49 the outline of the plague doctor's mask can be seen: Credit: 5251 12. And a couple of seconds later at 32:01, he can be seen again over Dani's shoulder: Credit: 5619 13. Later on in episode 1, during Dani's conversation with Flora by the lake, the plague doctor lurks behind them at 34:16: Credit: 6024 14. Nearly two minutes later at 36:09, he can also be seen crouching in the fireplace: Credit: 6393 15. And at 45:22, the creepy figure can be seen behind Dani as she tucks Flora into bed: Credit: 6763 16. And at 46:26, the same figure can be seen in Flora's mirror: Credit: 7109 17. And at 46:40 as Miles asks for his electric fan, the doctor's hat is clearly visible behind him: Credit: 7492 18. Seconds later at 47:15, a figure can be seen in the reflection in the mirror in Flora's closet: Credit: 7873 19. And at 50:01 in episode 1, the plague doctor's mask and hat are visible at the end of the hallway: Credit: 8257 20. And once again by a tree at 51:03 in episode 1: Credit: 8590 21. Moving on to episode 2, a ghost can be seen moving in the pile of dolls at 05:21: Credit: 8957 22. And the little boy with no face can be seen at the end of the hallway at 06:21 in episode 2: Credit: 9335 23. And as Owen brings over some G&Ts at 26:02 in episode 2, another figure can be seen lurking in the shrubs: Credit: 9727 24. Staying on episode 2, and at 30:48, another figure can be seen at the end of the hallway: Credit: 10102 25. And as the children play hide and seek with Dani in episode 2, another figure can be seen at 36:29 at the end of the hall: Credit: 10510 26. And another one at 36:37: Credit: 10821 27. Time for an easy one in episode 2, and Rebecca can be seen in the doorway at 37:20: Credit: 11190 28. In episode 3, the first hidden ghost can be seen at 05:56: Credit: 11534 29. And during the same scene, another figure is lurking over Dani's shoulder at 06:18: Credit: 11903 30. And as the police officer leaves at 07:35, another figure can be seen behind the door: Credit: 12275 31. Moments later at 07:17, a figure can be seen standing behind Mrs Grose. This appears to be the soldier who Henry recalls being scared of: Credit: 12698 32. And at 8:00 in episode three, another ghost lurks behind a door: Credit: 13048 33. Sticking with episode 3, and what is lurking behind Owen at 15:13? Credit: 13400 34. The solider appears once again as Peter and Rebecca talk in the kitchen at 19:57: Credit: 13767 35. At 21:40, another very easy-to-miss figure: Credit: 14096 36. The faceless boy can also be clearly seen standing in the dark hallway at 30:43 seconds in episode 3: Credit: 14483 37. And it appears that at 34:47, Mrs Grose notices something over Dani's shoulder: Credit: 14848 38. And the last one of episode 3 comes at 37:23, as the plague doctor stands at the back of the kitchen: Credit: 15235 39. The faceless boy can also be seen crouching at 37:51 in episode 3: Credit: 15587 40. Onto episode 4, and at 14:28, either the vicar or the solider can be seen in the back room: Credit: 15964 41. Later on in episode 4 at 46:06, the mask of the plague doctor is once again visible: Credit: 16334 42. Another easy one is Viola walking behind Dani at 47:26 as Flora makes up a nightmare: Credit: 16705 43. Staying with episode 4, and at 48:19, a figure can be seen standing in the background: Credit: 17077 44. And as Dani burns the glasses, somebody can be seen standing behind her at 49:31: Credit: 17444 45. Moving onto episode 5, and as the Wingraves arrive at 09:31, a figure can be seen standing in the chapel: Credit: 17835 46. And as Mrs Grose enters the manor at 10:22 in episode 5, another figure can be seen standing beside the staircase: Credit: 18235 47. Perhaps one of the spookiest spots is the little boy in the kitchen at 30:42 in episode 5: Credit: 18611 48. And despite Flora being told that there is nobody in her closet in episode 6, somebody can be seen in the mirror at 14:12: Credit: 19019 49. The same figure appears again in the same episode at 23:53: Credit: 19364 50. An important one to the story here, and in episode 6, the young boy continues to play with Flora's dolls at 25:19: Credit: 19764 51. And Dani is unaware she is being watched by two figures as she comes up the stairs at 1:03:09 in episode 6: Credit: 20157 52. In episode 7, a figure can be seen standing in the corner as Rebecca walks by: Credit: 20521 53. Again in episode 7, a figure can be seen behind Rebecca as she talks to Peter: Credit: 20885 And that's all we've managed to find.
