Amid all of the Game of Thrones drama, there's still one crucial question yet to be answered: where the hell is Melisandre?!

We've not seen hide nor hair of the Red Woman since season seven and, in all honesty, we're starting to miss her.

But, if a new hot theory is correct, then the witch has already made her debut in the last series of the hit fantasy show without us noticing!

Redditors have been busy cooking up an intriguing hypothesis that Melisandre is already at Winterfell with the other characters - just in a different form than usual.

Is this little girl Melisandre? Watch the clip and make your mind up:

If people online are right, the Red Woman appeared in the guise of the scared little girl who begged Davos to let her fight, only to be sent to the crypts in episode two.

If you remember, Melisandre can use her ruby necklace to disguise her true appearance of an elderly woman – so why not use the appearance of a little girl who closely resembles Shireen Baratheon (whose tragic death she played a big part in, lest we forget)?

Game of Thrones producers drove the Shireen point home by using Shireen’s distinct musical theme during the Season eight scene - and, after all, if anyone needs to hide from the other characters, it's the devious witch, who has been threatened by Varys and is still on Arya's hit list.

The theory originally came from Redditor 'u/jt-clark,' who posted two days ago saying: "I think that Lady Melisandre is already in Winterfell. She used her ruby to glamour herself as this little girl with a burn scar. She will prevent Whitewalkers from entering a crypts." [sic]

So, will the Red Woman be using her powers for good and protecting the terrified women and children in the crypt? Will we be seeing a redemption story play out?

One thing we certainly could be watching on Sunday is the Red Woman's death scene, going off the fact that the last time we saw Melisandre at the end of Game of Thrones Season seven, she was foreshadowing her own demise, as well as Varys’ passings.

Check out the trailer for Game of Thrones season eight, episode three:

In Dragonstone, she issued a warning to the skilled manipulator before leaving for Volantis.

Varys said to her: "If you don’t mind my saying, I don’t think you should return to Westeros. I’m not sure you’d be safe here."

Melisandre’s response went: "Oh, I will return dear Spider, one last time. I have to die in this strange country, just like you."

So, has the witch already released her way into Winterfell? Is she disguised as the little girl? Will she and Davos die in this week's episode? The tension is getting too much to bear!
