Saturday night was a huge night for fans of naughties pop, as the Pussycat Dolls reunited to perform together for the first time in ten years. Taking to the X-Factor UK stage, Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar, and Jessica Sutta put on a performance that left viewers divided.

There's no doubt the comeback was full of energy, with the bandmates executing sultry dance moves to some PCD classics - along with a taster of their new single 'React'. However, considering the performance took place prior to the UK's 9:00PM watershed, many upset viewers took to Twitter to brand the band "disgusting".

Check out the performance below - was it too much for a family show?

One angry Twitter user wrote: "Disgusted with Pussycats dolls on X factor tonight. I’m sorry but I am there are millions of young girls watching this and thinking that they have to look that thin to get recognised. This is a family programme and it’s a disgrace! [sic]"

Another typed: "Disgusting, disrespectful and shameful and all before the watershed. X-Factor is a family show and I enjoy it with my 7 year old daughter who was shocked and disgusted as was I. Call yourself a role model, put some clothes on and grow up. [sic]"

And a third commented: "The outfits the #pussycatdolls are wearing on #XFactorCelebrity are totally inappropriate for 8.15pm on a family show. Not good role models for girls. You don't have to take your clothes to be successful. [sic]"

But the complaints were just restricted to Twitter. Per The Sun, Ofcom the UK's broadcasting and communications regulator, have confirmed that they received 419 complaints - making it one of the most complained-about moments of the year.

In a more emotional moment of the show, Simon Cowell had to be comforted by his long-term partner after breaking down at the new X-Factor charity single:

But lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger didn't seem too bothered by the backlash, as she soon took to Instagram to plug the upcoming Pussycat Dolls reunion tour:

Speaking to the Daily Mail about their reunion, 41-year-old Scherzinger said: "It was so great to be back together again. The energy from the crowd was amazing and spurred us on."
