Fans are delighted to see Jamie Lynn Spears on the small screen again after a near 10-year hiatus.

The erstwhile Zoey 101 star has returned to her performance roots in the new Netflix drama series, Sweet Magnolias. The show, which dropped on the streaming service earlier this month, is adapted from the Sherryl Woods' book of the same name.

Per Deadline, "Sweet Magnolias, based on Woods’ popular series of novels published by Harlequin imprint MIRA books, centers on three South Carolina women, best friends since high school, as they shepherd each other through the complexities of romance, career, and family."

The 28-year-old sister of pop legend, Britney Spears, plays the role of Noreen Fitzgibbons - the first acting job she's had in over 10 years after she featured in the ABC sitcom Miss Guided back in 2008.

Watch as Jamie Lynn's sister, Britney, reveals that she accidentally burnt down her gym:

And her fans were certainly pleased to see her return to the small screen, with many taking to Twitter to express their delight. "I’m absolutely loving Sweet Magnolias on Netflix, obsessed that Jamie Lynn Spears is in it," wrote one Twitter user, while another added, "I don’t know about you guys but I just found out that Jamie Lynn Spears is in a @netflix show and I’m pretty excited about it."

"I’m BAWLING my eyes out and you’re gonna let that be the last episode??!?!?!?! @netflix you better have another season of #SweetMagnolias in the works… I also may or may not have just screamed the F word… @jamielynnspears you were awesome!! wrote a third.

Spears first took a hiatus from acting when she announced she was pregnant at the age of 16 in 2007 -  something that led her to leave her role as Zoey Brooks on Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 the following year.

The actress, who is a mother-of-two, gave birth to her first daughter in June of 2008. She shares Maddie with her ex-fiancé, Casey Aldridge.
