Since the show ended, the cast has moved on. But as the 25th anniversary has come upon us, it's been a good excuse for fans, and those involved in the hit sitcom, to get nostalgic about the show that defined the nineties. Actress Jennifer Aniston paid tribute to the show in the best way of all.

She's just christened her own Instagram account by posting a heartwarming selfie with the rest of the cast: Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry. Aniston captioned the picture: "And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM [sic]."

Not only that but she also teasingly gave fans a glimpse at her own personal feelings about the fate of Ross and Rachel's relationship. When one fan commented on her post to ask her a question about the fate of the couple on her Instagram account, Aniston replied: "Well we’re on a break" - a reference to an infamous plot-line that led to the two characters breaking up with each other in season three.

Would Aniston ever consider appearing in any kind of follow-up? It seems not. Talking about the subject of a reboot in a recent interview, Aniston stated: "Our producers wouldn't want it, wouldn't let us. Look, it's not been without our desire to, because our fans have wanted it so much ... It would have been fun. We could have redesigned it for a couple of episodes. But whatever. Maybe it's better this way, but we'll never know."

Okay, so maybe Jennifer Aniston believes that the characters are on a break: but I personally like to believe that they lived happily ever after.
