Anyone who works in the TV industry will tell you that a live broadcast is always an opportunity for disaster to strike in the worst possible way. You name it, it's probably happened. Animals pooping on the set, children saying the wrong thing, guests making offensive statements, technical issues, corpsing, accidents, whatever.

For instance, this week a live 'unsung hero' segment on the British talk show This Morning went somewhat awry, after a customer complained that a milkman was delivering items that he did not want.

Take a look at the footage in the video below:

The segment in question saw hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby joining a milkman names Darren Barnes on his morning rounds in Guildford in Surrey. Darren spoke about one customer of his, who he assured the cameras was "lovely."

Barnes stated; "This is the sort of guy that I love. Served him for years. I’m going to make you safe and we’re going to make sure we supply you with all the things we can. He’s a lovely chap, I’ve served him for years."

However, the man in question could be heard stating that he didn't want the extra items Darren was furnishing him with. The milkman was left red-faced, and Holly and Philip also looked embarrassed.

On social media, a number of viewers appeared to sympathize with Darren however. For instance, one Twitter-user wrote: "Love the milkman delivering extra bits to the old guy for the article on @thismorning Obviously looked better delivering more than just milk. Old bloke moans. Milky says, 'Dont worry, I'll take it back in a bit'. Brilliant. [sic]"

Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "Awww... I’m not sure whether isolation is getting to me or what but I’m crying to the milk man on this morning. What a lovely gent. [sic]"
