Euphoria's latest season has pushed the boundaries further than ever before - and it's not been without its fair share of controversy.
From Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) dressing up as a dog and a baby for her new career on OnlyFans and Jules (Hunter Schafer) becoming an escort, to Nate (Jacob Elordi) having body parts cut off by gangsters he owes money to, the hit HBO show hasn't shied away from any topics.
The latest episode has had fans Googling one particular scene involving Cassie engaging in macrophilia.
Macrophilia is also known as the 'giantess' kink, in which people are sexually aroused by the concept of a giant person making them feel smaller.
While many haven't heard of macrophilia, it is an increasingly popular kink, with sociologist Sarah Melancon PhD, a clinical sexologist, telling Cosmopolitan: “Macrophilia is a term describing sexual fantasies related to giant persons, whether male (giant) or female (giantess)… if we consider how often giant and giantess-type stories appear in our culture, it isn’t surprising that some people find these themes erotic."
Pam Shaffer MFT added to the outlet: “It centres around the erotic feeling of being ‘helpless’ as the giantess dominates those beneath her, forcing them into sexual slavery or crushing them with her strength."
In the third season of the hit show, Sydney's character Cassie is forging a career on OnlyFans in order to pay for her expensive wedding to Nate.
In order to satisfy her customers, Cassie chooses to partake in many different requests, from dressing up and acting like a dog, to mimicking a baby - one particular storyline that led to a lot of criticism from fans.
As her content grows in popularity, Cassie ends up engaging in a private session with one of her subscribers, in which she becomes a giant woman, pressing her breasts against the man's window and breaking it.
While some of Cassie's OnlyFans ventures have ruffled some feathers with viewers, it seems Sydney enjoyed embracing this part of the role, as she said it was "the coolest thing" she’s ever done.
She said in a behind-the-scenes video: "The Cassie-Zilla sequence was probably the coolest thing I’ve ever done."
Marcell Rév, director of photography for the show, revealed that the inspiration was partly from the classic movie Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, as well as the Godzilla films, and showrunner Sam Levinson revealed that it took a whole year to create the miniatures for the scene, which Sydney said had "unbelievable" levels of detail.
Speaking of Cassie's venture into adult entertainment, Sydney previously said: "I think she knows what she is choosing and what she is going to sacrifice to give herself over to Hollywood [and become famous]."
