Nerds: Assemble.
We are just a few short weeks away from perhaps the most anticipated climax in movie saga history. On April 26, Avengers: Endgame will be released in movie theaters across the globe, as over 10 years of compelling storytelling (and Thor: The Dark World) finally come to a head in what is known as Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, aka the MCU.
The MCU currently consists of 21 action-packed movies (and Thor: The Dark World), starting all the way back in 2008 with Iron Man, leading all the way up to Captain Marvel, which was released earlier this year.
Avengers: Endgame will see what's left of the galaxy's greatest superheroes try and finally overthrow the Infinity Gauntlet-wielding Thanos, and reverse the deaths of their friends, along with the other 50% of all life he wiped out.
Now, Disney and Marvel have given fans an absolute treat, as Marvel Entertainment have tweeted out exclusive footage of the upcoming epic, which also gives fans their first look at Thanos in Endgame.
Check out the footage below - and if you can make it through without crying, you're a better person than me:Along with the new footage, AMC has also revealed the movie's official run-time on their website; a mouth-watering three hours and two minutes. This means toilet breaks will certainly be an issue for some of you, but who cares? Just pee in your Pepsi bottle!
The exciting news was announced on Twitter by MCUComics.com founder Jeremy Conrad, who said: "AMC has [updated] their website with the official synopsis for #AvengersEndgameand lists the runtime as 3 hours, 2 minutes."
Conrad has also confirmed on his Twitter account that the late Stan Lee will be making his final MCU cameo in Avengers: Endgame.
And finally, in even more amazing news for comic nerds everywhere, last month saw the completion of the Disney-Fox merger, Forbes confirmed.
After Disney announced they were going to be the ones to acquire 21st Century Fox back in December 2017, fans were salivating at the chance to see superheroes like Deadpool and the X-Men - who were formerly licensed by Fox - finally start to appear in the MCU.
Well, now that the $71.3 billion mega-acquisition was finally made official on March 20, we may finally see the new breed of X-Men team up with Spider-Man, just like in the comics.
