Netflix has finally announced the release date for season 3 of Ozark. The critically acclaimed series will be making its long-awaited return on March 27.

The announcement was made on Netflix's "See What's Next" Twitter account, where a short video teaser was posted. The teaser consists of close-up shots of playing cards and $100 bills and then the written season 3 release date: March 27.

Take a look at the announcement video for season 3 of Ozark:

The thriller drama stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, and Julia Garner, is produced by MRC Television and created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams. It was one of the most talked-about Netflix releases of 2017.

Having received much critical acclaim from the outset, it wasn't long before the awards nominations began pouring in from the Emmys, Golden Globes, and Screen Actors Guild.

Bateman, who directed six of the 20 episodes currently on the streaming platform, even managed to bag himself a directing award at the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards.  Furthermore, Julia Garner won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

If you've not already seen it, take a look at the announcement video for the previous season of Ozark, currently on Netflix:

“It was something that was presented to me as an acting [opportunity],” said Bateman to IndieWire about his role on Ozark, both behind and in front of the cameras. “Saying yes to it would have prevented me from directing a film […] so I said to my agent, “Well, if they’re open to me executive producing the whole thing, which is basically the oversight position that a director has in film, and also directing all 10 episodes, then I’m in.”

“Actors work about 15 minutes an hour, and the rest of the crew is working the other 45. What was exciting was that I would get to work all 60,” he continued. “I like watching daytime TV every once in a while, but it’s no fun when you’re sitting in your trailer, and you know everyone’s making the movie out there while you’re catching up on local news.”

Ozark Season 3 will be available to stream Netflix from Friday, March 27.
