Viewers have also been raving about the movie on social media. "#CarryOn #CarryOnNetflix was a top-notch thriller movie!!" one user gushed.
A second user shared that they were "on the edge of my seat," and "got two heart rate alerts on my Apple Watch, I literally had to sit up to watch it bc laying down was too stressful".
Some people have even gone as far as saying the movie is much better than Bruce Willis’s Die Hard.
One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that the film "does 'Die Hard in an airport' better than the actual Die Hard in an airport".
Another person said: "Carry-On literally the movie Die Hard 2 wished it had been," while a third added: "Watched the new Netflix movie Carry On tonight. Bit like Die Hard but much better and genuinely a Christmas movie unlike the actual Die Hard."

Director Collet-Serra has acknowledged the influence of Die Hard on the project, telling BBC: “Everyone wants to make the next Die Hard, and the reality is that no one ever will – it’s a perfect movie that can’t be replicated and also a very specific product of its time."
Like Willis' John McClane, Egerton's character is an ordinary person thrust into an unusual situation, balancing work and danger.
The filmmaker stressed that the new film is a standalone story that pays homage to its predecessor.
“But when I read the script for Carry-On, I felt like I had found a more grounded version of Die Hard - which was our North Star for the entire process - for a new generation," Collet-Serra remarked.
