Remember that charming bookshop manager named Joe who turned out to be a psycho? What a great guy he was. Don't you miss him just a little bit?

Well, the new season of You doesn't have a release date attached to it quite yet - but while you're waiting to see what that lunatic stalker does next, Netflix has another crazed young man for you.

The official trailer for Secret Obsession dropped on Monday - and boy is it going to fulfill your obsessive need to watch something with an obsessive stalker.

The new original thriller film tells the story of a young woman named Jennifer (played by The Suite Life of Zach and Cody star Brenda Song) who wakes up after an accident with no recollection of what happened, nor memory of the man at her hospital bedside.

Discovering that the man, named Russell (portrayed by The Brave actor Mike Vogel), is her husband, she returns to their beautiful house in the woods with him - but all is not as it seems.

Going off the trailer, Russell is certainly not her husband, but instead, a man who is chillingly obsessed with her. The real question, however, is: what did he do with her real husband?

The new footage got fans on social media excited, with many taking to Twitter to share their feelings.

"Well that's creepy. Gonna have to watch it," wrote Twitter user @EricBreitigam. He was joined by @smooothhJ who tweeted "Secret Obsession is gonna be a live ass movie I can’t wait," as well as @divyapopat who tagged her friends saying: "This looks so good!!!!"

Of course, the new film is destined to draw comparisons to You, which followed Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), a New York bookstore manager who fell in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and quickly became obsessed with her.

The show premiered on Lifetime on September 9, 2018, in the United States, before streaming on Netflix worldwide from December 26, 2018.

While it attracted a limited audience on Lifetime, Netflix claimed that You looked set to be watched by 40 million subscribers by 23 January.

Secret Obsession will be available to stream on Netflix from July 18. Lock all your doors and windows and tuck into your new fixation.
