Now, per Variety, Nicolas cage is due to play the eccentric zookeeper in a new television series.

The series is based on the Texas Monthly article: Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey into the World of a Man Gone Wild, which was written by Leif Reigstad.
CBS TV Studios reportedly optioned the article in June of 2019. Variety details that 56-year-old Cage will also be acting as executive producer, and that the script will be written by American Vandal showrunner Dan Lagana.

The Netflix docuseries, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem And Madness, was released back in March, and per Nielsen Data, it is estimated to have reached 34.3 million viewers in its first 10 days of being on the streaming service.
